Gegenes is the largest (populated) region in terms of area. It has the largest fighting force, but it is divided among multiple militias that are funded and controlled by the wealthy Belisarins, who are typically merchants and political leaders. Each city has its own way of governing, though each one has a single individual that is considered the “governor,” who also usually holds sway over smaller neighboring communities.

Adur is the wealthiest of the independent regions due to its location. It is somewhat central, but the rivers where trade passes are often lined with gorges. This allows the people of Adur to have the advantage when it comes to trade: they can decide which ships they wish to allow to pass. Traders here aren’t particular, and will pass goods to both the Empire as well as other independent regions. Like Chromandae, Adur is also a place of higher learning. However, science and medicine are the focus.
Ecology: rocky gorges with rivers, hills, sparse grasslands.
Government: Plutocracy
Loa Abilities: air (common), earth (common)
Characters: Isco, Yassen (raised)
Kirin is one of the hardest regions to travel to. It is tucked between a part of Ilazki and the coast. Kirin has a very small population, most of which immigrated there in order to find wide, open spaces. Land is cheap and plenty. The people of Kirin are notable horse breeders, producing the finest lines in all of Lifrasir. Kirin horses are highly sought after but extremely expensive and tend to be temperamental. Kanna and Haru's horses are pure Kirin bred.
Ecology: open fields, broken by thin forests. Trapped between the coast and Ilazki, Kirin has the most extreme temperature fluctuations and is often lashed by devastating storms.
Government: Anarcho-Socialism
Loa Abilities: any (uncommon, low)
Ilazki is colloquially referred to as The Wastes. In terms of size, it is the largest region on Lifrasir. It is a cursed land, barren and lifeless. Life on Lifrasir began on Ilazki, or so the legends go, but it was also where the gods fought to the death. Their battle ruined the land, making it uninhabitable.
Ecology: chilling winds over desert-like landscape. The sand particles are frozen, and the wind can actually cut exposed skin when it carries it. Rivers are frozen, though the ice breaks apart on occasion on the river Iss due to its large size.
