The next morning I skipped breakfast, not wanting to confront my parents. I was currently roaming the hallways of the school trying to meet up with my friends. I made my way to the school’s library knowing that they were probably hanging out in there. I walk into the wonderful ambiance of the library. The aroma of older books hits my nose making me feel as if I were at home.
I quickly spotted my friends who also had a few others around them, one of the others being Onyx. “Hello my love,” Ella looked up at me breaking up the conversation they were having, holding her hand out for me. “I’m surprised you’re here this early.” She laughed.
“The parentals made an unknown appearance at home yesterday.” Raven and Ella automatically stand up and excuse themselves from the conversation they were having. They both wrap an arm around mine and they pull me into a more secluded part of the library.
“Spill,” Raven’s dark eyes meet mine.
“They came home last night, my mom bitched about me leaving the dinner dishes from our dinner the night before in the sink. Then they had the gall to treat me like I was a child like I wasn’t aware something was wrong. They didn’t even warn me that they were coming home.” I grit my teeth together. “‘You’re an Omega you know what your job is.’” I repeat the words my mom says in my own way. “‘You’ll be lucky if you get a husband.’” The words weren’t exactly what she had said, but it's the way it had sounded to me.
“Fuck.” Ella frowned, she took her hair out of her bun and did it back up in another bun. It was a nervous habit of hers. “I don’t think my mom has ever said anything like that to me even though sometimes I am a little shit sometimes. That’s really harsh.” Ella wrapped her arms around me. “If you wanna you can come to stay at my house tonight. I think the pups are going to spend the night at my Nahnah’s house.”
“Well after we help Onyx with the full moon ceremony preparations,” Raven interjected.
“What do ya say?” She pulls back and wags her eyebrows with a wide grin on her face.
“I guess.” I shrugged my shoulders.
“Plus it’s the weekend, we can stay up extra late ‘n stuff. We’re going to do facials and stuff. It's gonna be a fun time. I think my mom would love to join us since the boys are a mess.” She laughs. Ella has 4 younger brothers, and 4 older brothers, she was smack dab in the middle. Her older brothers were already mated and moved out of their parent’s house. Ella was the only girl and spoiled wasn’t the accurate wording for her life at home. If she wanted it, she got it. If someone made her cry her brothers would beat their ass. Her mom loved having at least one female in the house, and do I blame her. That amount of testosterone would drive me mad.
“I’ll see if my parents will let me stay over tonight,” Raven says pulling his phone out, most likely to shoot a text to his parents. “Onyx is needing help, with the full moon ceremony seeing as they’re testing her skills on being the future Luna. I’m surprised they have this much faith that she’s going to be the next Luna. What happens if Alexandre gets mated to someone else? God, how fucking awkward would that be?” Raven laughs.
“Nah I guarantee you that she’s going to be the next Luna.” I said, “You should have seen them together when I was drinking that nasty ass sludge. They’re perfect together.” I smiled at the thought, I hope I get to have something like that when I find my mate.
“Looks are different than feelings.” Ella shrugged her shoulders pursing her lips in thought. “Their wolves will know when the day comes when he turns 18. We won’t know until then will we?”
“When did you become such a wise ass?” I asked her, tilting my head to the side.
“Since birth my bitches, since birth.” She points her thumbs to her chest and laughs. “Anyways, let’s go tell Onyx that you’re going to be helping this afternoon. She’s wanting to prepare the dinner for the pack meet, that’s one hell of a task to throw on someone who’s a year younger than us. The elders are wack, and they’re only giving her tonight to prepare. Some bullshit I say.”
“Agreed,” Raven states, we approach Onyx who’s now sitting on top of the table, her legs swinging as she smiles and replies to one of her friends.
“Yo Luna, we got an expert chef here. He says he’s down to help out tonight.” Ella says jutting her thumb into my shoulder.
“Perfect, hopefully, we can get it all done by dinner time. If y’all know anyone else that can help I would really appreciate it seeing as we’re cooking for most of the pack. I really wish the elders gave me more than 24 hours’ notice before the full moon about all of this but a good Luna can work under pressure.” She breathes out a sigh, shaking her head back and forth.
“Will do, we’re going to get to class now, see you after school Onyx.” Raven smiles waving at the future Luna.
