Aykay: Hey everyone the name is Aykay. My actually name is Adeleke Kayode and my initials are AK I wanted to do that in a fun way and you get Aykay. I am the creator and writer of Maho no Ken and I Once Was A Demon Lord But Now I'm A Hero.
Q1: When did you get the idea of Maho no Ken?
Aykay: At some point I decided that I wanted to write a light novel since I can't draw to save my life. The first story I wrote was intend to be a manga but it was written out more like a regular story. So I figured I'd get closer to what I was going for by writing in the style of a light novel. From there I knew I wanted to do a story about a magic school and then I decided upon the main character's fighting style which I wanted to be unique and something that stood out from everyone else. Bit by bit I fleshed out the story. And sometime later here I am.
Q2: Can you name your inspirations?
Aykay: Wow. I'm a huge anime fan. I love dragon ball z, bleach, naruto, black clover etc. There two animes that deserve a specific shoutout because I watched them a bit more closely when I was coming up with the idea for Maho no Ken and that's the Irregular at magic school and Trinity seven. I have a lot of inspiration in general so they might be too many to list.
Q3: How long do you think Maho no Ken will be?
Aykay: That's a really good question. Maho no Ken is really different from a lot of stories that I've written before in the sense that it's a bit more character driven. So it's the story of Yuuto and there's a lot to tell and a lot I want to tell. I'm finishing up writing the second arc. Which with my release schedule is something like 180 episodes to get to that point. And then I have three other arcs planned out. I recently decided to expand the story to better fit in somethings so there's probably going to be more than five arcs in total.
So to answer your question I'm not too sure. It will probably be decently long though, I really hope readers stick around to see it all the way through with me.
Q4: What made you want to create stuff?
Aykay: When I was young like seven or something my brother told me I couldn't write a story. So I went like "Oh yeah." And started writing. I left the story came back to it adding more and more, changing things around etc. I found that I really enjoyed writing and storytelling and I have been writing ever since. I really want to make a career out of my writing. It's my passion. I write novels, I write scripts, I really enjoy storytelling. I always have.
Q5: What are your hopes for the future of Maho no Ken?
Aykay: I did mention I love anime. While Maho no Ken is an OELN which is original english light novel and the chances are pretty slim. I'd absolutely love it if Maho no Ken became an anime that would be a major milestone. I also hope people want to continue reading the story. I know I'm not the greatest writing so that might be a snag for some people I just hope that I can tell the story well enough that everyone sticks around for the long haul. Each reader means a lot, their likes and comments. Oh more comments. I love interact with people with my stories and I think I'm fairly nice so you can always say hi.
CM: It's been an honor to interview you, anything you want to say to the readers before I end this?
Aykay: Thanks so much for the opportunity. Um keep the likes and comments coming I love to see them. Together we just reached a milestone and I unlocked support so there's that. And if you like Isekai and haven't checked out I Once Was A Demon Lord But Now I'm A Hero take a look. I appreciate all of you so, so much I hope the story grows and the readers grow with it. Who know what the future holds I just hope you are all there to see it will me.
Thanks again everyone.
