Eileen looks around the bedroom and picks up some shredded clothes from the floor. Eileen then focuses on the bed. She was very forensic, while putting on some gloves, like she was looking for something. Tom noticed that Eileen avoided approaching the bed and acted very cautiously around it.
Mike starts taking photos of the whole room, including the deep scratches on the door which Tom indicates to him.
Eileen then points to the headboard and says, "There it is!" To Mike.
As he takes close up pictures of the bed. Tom looks at the headboard but can't see what Eileen was pointing to. Eileen, Mike, and Tom then leave the room. Standing outside, Tom locks the door and places the key on the table in the hall landing. Next, they walk downstairs into the living room. Eileen then sits Tom down.
After taking a deep breath she candidly tells him "Your bed is possessed! And it's called Lucy."
Tom looks at Eileen with a look of absolute horror on his face, as he goes very pale. Eileen continues while gently holding Tom's hand, by saying the bed was named after an adolescent woman who killed herself on it three years earlier, after brutally murdering her boyfriend. And the bed had been positively linked to numerous deaths and murders ever since. Eileen & Mike had been tracking it down for some time. But the bed would always mysteriously vanish from an active crime scene, only to show up somewhere else before they could get to it.
Tom asks Eileen fearfully, "How do you know this is the same bed?"
Eileen explains wryly, "The bed always retains the name 'Lucy' inscribed on it somewhere."
Eileen shows Tom the photos Mike had just taken. Eileen points her finger at one of the closeup pictures of the headboard. As Tom sees the name L U C Y spelled out along it, something Tom had failed to notice. Eileen also believes the bed had developed an obsession with Tom. Which would plausibly explain what's been going on, including the brutal attack on his pregnant fiancé.
Tom asks Eileen & Mike, "Can you help me get rid of the bed?"
Mike replies "We can, if you agree to let us take it. And once the bed is removed. It would be taken to a place where it can't harm anyone."
Mike queries Tom, "Where did you get the bed from?"
Tom tells him "I bought it from an old man at a local junk shop."
Eileen asks Tom, "Can you go back there as soon as possible. And find out where the old man got it from?" While we make preparations to remove the bed."
Tom agrees to do so as they all leave the flat. Tom decides to try and speak with the old man straight away. And drives to the junk shop. It was the early evening as he pulls up outside the store. Which appeared to be closed, with all the lights switched off. Tom tries opening the front door which was locked. Tom looks through the shop window to see if the old man was inside.
He calls out while knocking on the glass window, but he receives no reply. Tom decides to try again tomorrow, as he gets in his van and drives back to the hospital. When Alice wakes up, Tom tells her he had contacted some paranormal investigators, and he explains to her what they told him about the bed. And they would be rid of it within 24 hours.
