Jack leaned over the engine and looked over various parts. He touched this and that. Sasha stood beside him watching with anticipation and nervousness. He had no idea what any of it all mean except a few basics.
Jack stood straight again after he fiddled for a bit. He crossed his arms. "Hmm..."
"What? What is it?" Sasha immediately asked.
"I...have no idea," he replied and turned slightly to Sasha with a grin.
"Seriously?"
Jack chuckled and shrugged. "Well I have some idea but nothing I can do, not at the moment. Ye'll need it towed."
"...shit," Sasha mumbled quietly to himself though Jack caught it. A part of the Scotsman was surprised at the curse. It seemed odd coming from the prim and neat teacher. "Ah, excuse me, sorry. Thank you for looking...I'll just..." He began to pull his phone out.
"If ye don't mind waiting till tomorrow, Mr. Fujimori, I know a guy. I could give ye a lift home?"
Sasha was startled by this and adjusted his glasses a bit out of habit. A nervous one. "Uh, no, that's okay. I don't want to trouble you..."
"No trouble, no trouble at all. Honest." Jack smiled and itched his head a little, running his fingers through his hair.
Sasha seemed hesitant and with good reason. This seemed dangerous but not in the general sense. He wasn't worried for his life. No, more for his poor heart. He smiled a little back, if only because Jack's own was infectious. He gave in. "Okay, sure, thanks, Mr. McKinley."
"Ye know I kind of wish you'd call me Jack," he said as he led Sasha to his truck.
"I don't think that's appropriate," Sasha said simply as he reached the passenger side door and moved to open it.
"Ah, ye'll have to slide in from the driver's side, mate." He motioned to the little blonde head leaning against the window. Abby was passed out.
Sasha blinked and felt his heart throb a moment. He was suddenly more nervous than before. "Right." He awkwardly went around and slid into the middle space of the cab seat. He gripped his bag tightly in his lap, filled with a few things from the event he was taking home. He glanced at Abby and his features softened. She was such a bright kid. His favorite really.
Jack got in the truck glancing at Sasha and then gave a quick check at his daughter. He reached behind the seat for a blanket he had and offered it to Sasha. "Would you mind?" The teacher seemed confused for a second before he realized and draped the blanket over Abby. She seemed to snuggle up more but remained asleep. Jack caught Sasha's gentle smile looking at Abigail and his own heart felt a surge of affection.
Jack started the engine and began to pull out of the school's parking lot. "So where we headed, teach?"
