Colby had met up with Sam after school, seeing as the older had to walk with him to pick up his car. Then he felt his phone buzz, he pulled his phone up seeing it was the Groupchat. Sam must’ve opened because he said aloud “Oh, another hang out at Brennen’s. Wanna go Colbs?” He looked at the slightly taller boy. “Yeah, of course.” He felt a buzz in his hand knowing Sam had sent their response to the group chat.

Colby shoved his phone back into his pant pockets and him and Sam started their walk back to the house.

After we arrived at my house Sam said a quick bye and left to his house to get ready for the small hangout at Brennen’s later. I headed straight for my room knowing no one would bother seeing as I was home alone.

I fell onto my bed face first, sprawling out on it. I groaned as my stomach tried to rid of the few butterflies still in there from being alone with Sam. I had gotten over him, mostly. I mean, he had a girlfriend now who cared for him as much as he did her. I wasn’t in love with Sam. I knew that. Still didn’t mean my one sided crush didn’t hurt sometimes.

Jake, Corey and Elton were the only one who knew of my crush on Sam. Also Katrina but that was a story for another time.

Jake was the first person to know I was gay, or at least from what I can tell. Jake had been a year younger than me when I met him in middle school. We had P.E together and just started talking to each other.

We were best friends, and sometimes, SOMETIMES, my stomach would tighten around him. Then again I was 16 and hormonal, so no surprise there.

I decided to push these thoughts from my mind and went to take a shower. Knowing that would help clear my mind.

I had walked to Brennens seeing that his house was only a 30 minute walk.

When I arrived I noticed that I was one to get there. When Brennen opened the door his smile widened. “I almost that you cancelled on us Brother.” I smiled at him as we made our way to the living area. “Never.”
