❄️Dante's POV❄️

Today I have to go to my job and talk to John about taking some days off. I am almost there and I'm still working out what I should say. John is not only the manager, but he is also the co-owner of the store. I am worried that no-one will be able to pick up my shifts. I hope John doesn't get mad.

I walk in the store and John turns to see who just walked in. Today John was working by himself. He looked even more tired than he did yesterday. Poor guy looked lonely behind the desk by himself.

He turned to me confused why I was here and said, "What's up Dante? Why are you here on your day off? DO you miss me that much, or is it about your Mate letter?"

Even if John didn't show it, he cared deeply for all his workers. He was the one who was always here; his co-owner, Hugo, was never here. Hugo was only in it for the money, but John was in it for the people and the money. I kept telling him he should somehow kick Hugo out of the business, but John always says that he could never do that to a high school buddy.

"Uh yeah. I have to take a while off." I responded. Everything I practiced on the way here went right out the window. Damn it!

"What's up? Does your mate want you to move or something? Ya know even though they are ya mate it doesn't mean you have to move so fast boy. Slow it down. You're allowed to."

"Uh not really. I kinda have to go on a road trip. He lives in California. For some reason I have to meet at a Dennys in Florida. I don't know why Florida, but yeah."

"Little dude, that's wild. Now I see why the sun and moon goddess were fighting. Can I see that letter of yours? I want to see what you are driving for."

I take the letter out of my pocket and hand it to him. He laughs at all the stickers and glitter. He opened it and looked at everything. A smile grew on his face. He handed me the paper back. He still was smiling extremely wide.

"Go get your ball of sunshine! That moon goddess sure is crazy sometimes. Good luck!" he said. I knew he truly meant it by the way he held the smile the whole time.

"Are you sure you guys are going to be okay in the store? Do you want me to find someone in my pack to replace me for the time I'm gone?" I replied.

I'm starting to really worry about the store. I love this place, and I don't want it to shut down anytime soon.

"Yer fine kid. I promise. Go get your man! I'm proud of you. What day are you leaving?"

"Indigo and I are leaving in two days. My mom and dad are making me bring him along.They think I'm too weak to go by myself.'"

He let out a crackly laugh, and said, " Your parents are just looking out for you kid. They are scared that their little boy is gonna get hurt. They are good parents. Them alphas don't know what it's like to be a beta."

After I thanked him I left the store. I started my walk home when I got a mind link from Indigo. His words bounced in my head.

"Livi is here, don't come home."

Shit. Why is she back? I thought I killed that cockroach for the last time a few months ago. What is wrong with that toxic bitch?

"WHy" is what I mind linked back to Indigo.

"Bitch says that you two are mates. She says she got the note yesterday."

LIAR. Why is she like this? Why? why? She doesn't know what she did to me and my family. She ruined me. I hate her. I Hate Her.

"Where are you? I'm on the way to you. Stay calm." Indigo mind linked.

"I am right next to the book shop."

"Okay! I'll be there soon."

I sat down on the New York sidewalk. I pushed myself against a wall. My mind started to wonder about what happened a few months ago. Livi and I used to date. Let's just say it didn't work out. She ruined me.

I stayed against the wall until Indigo showed up. He looked out of breath.

"Don't worry even though I said I would never hit a woman I beat the shit out of that snake. She will never mess with you again. I promise." Indigo said.

I looked him in the eyes. Even if he was a little shit, he cared about me to the highest extent. Now I see why my parents want him to go with me.

"Thank you," I squeaked out.

I didnt relize how stupid i looked till now, so i stood up and brushed myself off. I looked at my little bro. Luckily, He is still like 4 inches shorter than me.

"Wanna go get some Ice cream or something? Wait until everything at home cools down?" I asked.

"Sure lets go! OH! Wait up what vinyls did the book shop get?" He responded.

"We didn't get any this week, but we did get some tapes. Do you wanna go check them out? We could probably get some cool ones for the road trip. Dad's car only takes tapes, and I don't want to ride with no music." I stated

"Sweet! Do you think they will have any emo bands? Did you see any Fall Out Boy? What about Panic!?"

"I don't know, let's go check it out."

We walked back into the store that I left a few minutes ago, and went straight to the music section. I ignored John when he asked why I was back. I only pointed to Indigo. I think he understood what that meant.

Indigo looked around for almost an hour while me and John chatted about little Jonathan.

When he was finally done we bought about 60 tapes. Every tape had a whole album on it. Good thing my family are alphas, otherwise we would be broke from this little dude. After that we weren't really in the mood for ice cream anymore, so we just headed home.
