Bro why are little kids so annoying? I'm just trying to do my job, and there are three little kids screaming. Can't they just shut up? I don't hate children, but these brats may be hate-worthy.

I continued scanning these books for some random dude who looked drunk and high. Whatever not my place to judge.

After I finished scanning his books, I got out my sketchbook and started drawing my next street art idea. What if I made a huge mural of the Moon Goddess stomping on my head? That would represent my life perfectly.

She has been sitting in the store for the last hour trying to give me that dumb Mate letter thing. Doesn't she know I'm working right now? Just let a guy do his work!

Oh thank god the woman with the triplets finally left. No more screaming babies. The whole place was quiet again.

Until the Moon Goddess came to the desk and for the hundredth time to give me my Mate letter.

"Please pretty boy! I have to visit your next lover. Oh did I mention that he is like SUPER hot? Oh boy did you get lucky."

"First of all boy? Second of all lucky? I would be so much luckier if you would just leave me alone. Can't you see I'm working? Are you blind old woman? Now leave me alone!"

"Nope. I won't leave you alone until you take the letter. I know you want to! I think this has to be my best pairing yet. Please just take it. Your shift is almost over. Pleaseee. Your poor mate probably won't get his letter till late tonight. You don't want that do you?"

I rolled my eyes and basically screamed, "I'll take the fucking letter if you just leave the store. You are distracting everyone in the book store. Just get out of here."

She did a weird high pitched scream thing,slid the mate letter into my hand, and vanished into the air.

Back to my street art. Maybe a dog holding a human head. Nah, too basic. Uhh maybe just a word, but what word? DESPACITO? Ha, no.

I lost my train of thought when a woman in a shimmery gold dress walked up to the counter.

"Can I help you?"

"Nope. I was just wondering what that letter was that was sitting on your desk. A mate letter?" Gold dress girl said.

"Uh yeah? What if it is? You got a problem with that?"

"Oh no, no, not at all. I was just wondering if my idiot sister gave it to you? She was bragging earlier about making the best pairing ever. I got interested and checked it over. That woman needs to retire! It was the worst pairing I have ever seen before. Anyway, I would like to see your letter please."

So she was the sun goddess. Big talk for a woman with such a small role. All she does is ruin her sisters plans. She is basically the goddess of divorce. Ugh what a rat.

"Hmm...let me think. No. Now back up before I scream for the moon goddess."

"Oh hunny, I was only asking to be polite. Give me that letter. NOW! Your pairing was dumb and I can pair you with such a better person. I swear. Also, do you really think she will come to your rescue? My sister is too much of a dimwit to care, or know."

I grabbed my letter and ran into the storage room. I started to pray to the moon goddess. I held onto my letter as tight as possible. I don't care who is my mate. The moon goddess picked him for me, and I know she is never wrong. I prayed for a few minutes, then I called for my family in our pack link. My whole family were alphas. I was the only one who was a beta. Even though they got on my nerves they knew what to do in this situation. I knew they could protect me right now.

The first response I got was from my little brother Indigo. He said "Uhh I don't know, pray or something. Now shut up I'm trying to listen to Panic!"

Of course he was no help; he is only like 5.

An angry Indigo boomed in my head "Idiot you are still in mind link, and I'm 13 so shut the fu*k up."

I heard the moon goddess respond in my head, "THAT DUMB DUMB APPLE HEAD! How DARE she! Don't worry, my love, I'm on the way!"

A flash of light blinded me for a hot second, but then the moon goddess was there looking pretty upset. She stormed out of the room we were in, and straight to her sister. I didn't hear the words that were being exchanged, but they just suddenly started to fist fight in the middle of the book store.

The manager finally left the bathroom after his hour bathroom break, and broke them up. The hour bathroom break was a normal thing for him. He was a middle aged guy who needed an afternoon nap. He was a tired man, and he trusted us to watch the store.

As he threw them out he yelled "If you ever come back I will be forced to call the police. STAY OUT!"

He turned around and walked back into the shop. He looked extremely tired, almost like he hasn't slept in a month. I wouldn't have been surprised if he hadn't. We have talked about it in the past, and I found out he has a newborn at home. Poor dude.

"Jonathan kept you up all night again last night huh?"

"Yep," he grunted.

He sat down in a chair by the checkout desk. He parked his elbows on the desk and rested his head on his hands. He closed his eyes and sighed again.

"By the way kid what was that all about? Most of the time we don't see the Moon Goddess and Sun Goddess in one place," he barked out. I wasn't offended, that was just how he talked.

I pulled my mate letter out of my pocket and slid it over the desk. "They were fighting over this thing."

He opened his eyes and took a good look at it. He let out a half laugh and said,

"Ya know kid when I turned 19 I got my Mate letter. My wife is exactly one year younger than me. It took a whole three years before we got married. God it took us forever to have a kid too, but now that I have one, well damn. Jonathan is a handful."

He kept rambling on, so I just sat and listened. The book store was empty, so there was no harm. I even stayed late to hear about his little boy. I thought to myself, I would risk my life for Jonathan, I mean I would kill for him.

It was about an hour after my shift ended and I was back home. I opened the door and my parents were standing there. My parents looked worried, but my little brother looked like he was forced to be there. God he probably was.

"What happened hunny? I'm so sorry we didn't respond. Indigo said it ended up being fine. Are you hurt? Why did you stay so late?" My mom asked.

"I'm fine mom, I got my Mate letter, and the Sun and Moon Goddess started to fight in the book store about it. Luckily John came out of the bathroom just in time to kick them out. I'm sorry I'm late. John talked about Jonathan for a while, and I should have mindlinked you. Don't worry mom everything is fine."

"YOU GOT YOUR MATE LETTER? Wait why was the moon goddess there, doesn't she usually do it over post? Did you open it yet? Well did you?" My dad was a hopeless romantic, so i guess he couldn't handle himself.

"I got it. I don't know why she hand delivered mine, and no I haven't opened it yet."

I pull it out of my pocket, and show it to my dad. He looks pumped and almost takes it out of my hand before my mom grabs his hands holding him back.

"OPEN IT OPEN IT OPEN IT!!" he chants.

I look at Indigo and he looks at me like I'm the devil. He doesn't care, and I know it, but if he tried to leave, my dad would probably kill him.

I look closely at my letter. I didn't realize it had stickers and glitter glue on it. Huh weird. I turn it over and break the seal. I pull the letter out and read the name Finn. What chick is named Finn. I scan my eyes down to the picture. He was freckly like really freckly. He had the most beautiful green eyes. His hair is also stunning. Wait, this is a guy. What? I guess I'm bi? Oh well I mean he was really freaking cute.

Oh there is a note by his name that read, " A beautiful surfer boi if i do say so myself. He is really sweet and a ball of sunshine. Plz don't hurt him. I will cryyyyyy. Treat this mans right!! Have fun!! XOXOXOX"- Moon Goddess

There was also a map. OH SHIT DO I HAVE TO GO A ROAD TRIP? I don't own a car. How is this gonna work? Why is the ending spot a Dennys? WHAT IS THIS?

My mom finally let go of my dad, so he ran and grabbed the letter out of my hand giggling like a little girl. He quickly scanned over it. He looked so excited.

"YOu GOT A RoAd Trip? Lucky! You can take my project car! Don't worry she runs like a cheetah. Indigo should go with you too. What if you get into trouble? He is an alpha he can help."

"Dad he is 13. Do I REALLY have to bring him?"

"Yep!" Mom and Dad said at the same time.
