One night, after everyone got ready for bed, Helsing came into my room and walked over to my writing desk. I was trying to finish up on the story Alucard helped me write. His two hands slammed on the desk, on each side of me.
"There is no need to hide those marks from me," he whispered and his hot sweaty breath was in my ears, "I can spot your sins for miles."
"What marks? Get away from me!"
I tried to turn around to get away but he pushed his whole weight on me. I froze when I felt the scarf fall down, and the bite marks were clear to see to him.
"From the size and spacing, a male vampire. Interesting," he grabbed my wrists, "Vampires hunt after prey that are attracted to them."
I tried to pull away but he tied my wrists to the desk, with the scarf.
"What is wrong with you?"
"A vampire marks their prey with a special connection. So I just have to taint that connection to summon him. I have not had a live vampire subject to study in years."
He licked the bite marks and I tasted bile in my mouth. I wanted to vomit to get rid of this disgusting feeling. I craved death after he was finished with me. I felt tainted, ruined, destroyed, and disgusted after he covered me in his essences. He dragged me to his house afterwards. Locked in a bedroom with no escape and only my thoughts as company.
A few days later, I heard someone talking outside my chamber door. He must have known someone was coming over because he put a gag in my mouth.
"What happened to Will?" I heard Julie's sweet voice.
"During his travels, he became possessed and I have to keep him locked up until I can pull the demon out of him."
"Is there anything I can do to help save him?"
Break me free! Save me! Kill me! Anything to get me out of this hell!
"No, he is not safe around people right now."
I wanted to scream but no sound could come out. As the days of pain and sleep continued, I wanted death for being Alucard's bait. Lewis was in on the capture, he enjoyed using me almost more than Helsing.
'Worry not my dear mate, I will free you,' A light whisper in my head.
'Please leave me behind, I am just broken parts. I dare not be your bear trap.' I thought to myself.
'I can sense your pain. I can smell your scent on a few humans here.'
I did not hear anything else until the door slammed open. Helsing can storming in and he looked like pure rage.
"You! Because of you, Lukas is dead! Drained of blood and life!"
He started beating me with words and fists. I am not sure when I passed out, but I woke up to a beautiful sight. My beautiful vampiric angel of the night.
"Good evening beautiful."
"You came for me."
I reached up and touched his cheek, it was wet with tears.
"Of course, I just had to have a bite to drink first."
"Be gone foul monster!" Julie shouted as I felt water hit me.
Alucard started hissing and I realized it was holy water. He broke the window and ran out of the room with me in his arms. He kept running until we reached a old house. He laid me down on a bed and started wrapping all of my wounds.
"I don't know how you can still take care of me after this. I'm broken, destroyed. I deserve to die."
I was covering my face as I cried from all the pain, the last few days gave me. I froze when I felt his hands brushing all the tears away.
"Humanity is broken. You were just a victim."
He pulled me into a hug and I missed this feeling so much. He was patting my back as I continued crying in his arms. Then I remembered what Helsing had last said to me.
"Did you kill Lukas?"
"I do not know, the only person I killed on England soil was a young man covered in your scent." I jumped when I felt him licking my neck. "Your scent is covered with those other guys."
It shocked me how much love he had for me in this moment. Much more than I got from my family in the past few weeks. Late into the night, almost early morning, he carried me to the basement.
"Where are you taking me?"
"One problem with being a vampire. When I am away from my birth home, I must sleep in a coffin with the soil of my homeland mixed in it."
"You sleep in a coffin?"
"Had one custom made for something like this."
The coffin was huge, enough for three people, with red cushions. He laid me down and then walked over to lock all the doors in the house. Then, he took a blanket and covered me in it. I closed my eyes as he climbed in.
I woke up to loud banging noises. I sat up at the same time as Alucard getting out to guard me. The door slammed open and I saw Julie and Helsing with weapons. I wrapped the blanket around myself.
"Julie look, I told you that your brother was just a meal to this monster." He said while pointing at me.
I reached up and felt a wet spot on my neck. In my annoyance, I forgot to be scared of the weapons pointed at me.
"You bit me in your sleep again!" I smacked his shoulder with every word.
"Sorry! It was an accident!"
Julie looked confused and worried at the same time.
"Are you sure, Professor? He doesn't act like a meal."
"Do not be mistaken, this is the same monster that killed Lukas."
At the name, I hid behind Alucard.
"Julie, why don't you ask the true monster in the room. Ask him what he did to me with the help of Lukas?"
Julie slowly turned towards him and he turned pale. She pointed her crossbow at hin.
"What is he saying? What did you and Lukas do to him?"
"Nothing! He forced himself onto us and begged us to continue!"
Helsing's hand quickly moved and I felt something warm drench my chest.
"William!"
My body felt weak and I slid to the side. He caught me and then I saw the river of blood coming out of my neck. My world started to go spotty as I heard faint shouting. I felt Alucard pick me up, run fast, and then I felt something shift. I think he put me on a bed but my body was becoming numb.
"I don’t want to do this but I don’t want to lose you. I will ask your permission first. Would you be willing to spend the rest of eternity with me as a vampire?"
I could not speak from the pain and the blood but I took his face and pulled him into a kiss. He pulled away and went to the gushing wound. I was shocked when the numbness went away and it got taken over by cold burning. My body started violently shaking and he had to hold me down.
"Shh, I am so sorry for this," he whispered in my ear, "but the pain is burning away the human part of you."
Then, as fast as it started, it was gone. I thought that I was dead because there was no pain, no heat, no beating heart.
"Is it over?" I shot up at the sound of Julie's voice. "God have mercy!"
Julie was standing next to Alucard and she had blood on her blouse. I could hear her blood pumping from across the room. Alucard got up and sat next to me, I started leaning onto him and I felt relaxed.
"How do you feel?"
Alucard tilted my face towards him to look at my new features. I started opening my mouth and it felt like I was returning from the Sahara desert again. Then I felt something sharp brush against my bottom lip.
"Thirsty, what happened?" My voice cracked from the dryness of my mouth.
"Gabriel went mad, craves revenge against Alucard. He was swearing death to all non humans. I originally joined him because I wanted to study the supernatural, not eradicate them."
We both got distracted when Alucard started to open his shirt.
"What are you doing?" I asked while trying not to stutter at the sight.
"You need to feed, so this is the easiest way," he looked to Julie and she made not motion to leave, "This is not going to be pretty to watch. He had never fed before."
She walked over, grabbed the dressing curtain, and then dragged it to the nearest chair. Then she grabbed some papers and a small table.
"I'm good now, I want to see this. New vampires and their first feeding are rare to document."
"I can see the family resemblance now."
He guided me on how to bite and drain properly. I was worried that I was biting too hard or taking too much. But he was not stopping me and I could hear the whispered moans in my ear. The blood felt so warm and filling as I drank. As I fed, I could hear everything in the room. I removed my new fangs and looked at Alucard.
"Did I do that correctly?"
He patted my head as Julie started laughing. I could tell that Alucard was hiding his laugh too.
"Yes, you were quite tame for your first time."
That caused Julie to start laughing harder. She stayed with us until it was time to head back home. To her, England and to us, Alucard's castle. I was inspired to keep writing on the boat.
Being a new vampire had some interesting reactions. Alucard did not mind quite a few of them. Now I understand how he has so much stamina at night.
Our troubles started back up a week after we got back. I was watching the shining stars and then I saw some bright flames down below. Something started burning the forest and the wolves were howling in pain and fear.
"Alucard!" I ran into his office. "The forest is burning!"
"What? Who would be willing to harm the people living in there?"
I started to hear more human shouting mixed with the wolves howling. I heard a deep growl next to me and I turned my head.
"I will murder whoever is burning my forest."
He started climbing out of the window and I followed behind him. We must have dropped down 20 stories, without being injured. I need to keep note of all the vampiric abilities later. He took off running and I did my best to catch with him. I heard more wolf and human yelps as we got closer.
Helsing was at the center of the fire, attacking human and wolf children. He had to fight off someone wearing a long red, hooded, cape.
"Helsing! You bastard!"
Alucard tackled Helsing and I ran to hooded figure. We got all of the young ones to other adults and they ran off. I heard Helsing scream out before liquid gurgles. I turned to look at the gruesome sight. I forgot that vampires only act human.
Alucard was holding the only solid part that was left, which was his head. He was holding it up and drinking the drops.
"Alucard that is disgusting," the red cape said as he walked over, "a person only taste as good as they behave."
With his last word, he kicked the head out of Alucard's hand.
"I know Alec, but I cannot be picky with fresh blood. William is still in the beginning stages of vampirism."
The light from the fire faded away. A large wolf came running through, and stopped next to Alec. I was shocked when the wolf shifted to a large naked man.
"We directed the fire to the river and was able to put it out before it spread out too much. All the pups are with their parents." He started sniffing the air and looked at me. "You finally took someone as a mate and turned him."
"My mate was dying so I had to save him."
Alec started laughing and the other one blushed. Alucard attempted to wipe his hands off before hugging me.
"What are they?"
"Shifters, they live, and take of the forest for me." He pointed to the naked man, "this is Slade," he pointed to the other one, "this is his turned mate, Alec."
So, Alec used to be human just like me. We walked back to the castle and saw the whole clan of shifters there. It turned out that the forest was full of mythical creatures.
Throughout the years later, I listened to their stories and shared them with the world. As technology grew, so did my writing career. It was sad staying the same while others grew old. Nevertheless, Alucard stayed by my side and we managed to grow a family as well.
We found abandoned children and raised them as humans. When they turned eighteen, we gave them the choice to turn them into vampires.
"Do you ever regret changing me?" I asked him as I watched the cars drive by.
"Sometimes I wonder how you would look with pepper hair and wrinkles. However, I may be a vampire but I don't sleep with the fully dead. I am happy I turned you, so you can watch the world turn with me."
I kissed his cheek as the final page of my story ends. To all the stories I have written, this will always stay close to me. Because without Alucard, I would not be able to share life and love.
