Now here I am. Without Yasmin I felt suddenly so alone. I am standing in front of the House with the address Al gave me. It is a small but cozy House, with a small garden full of flowers. I would have thought it is the wrong place if there weren’t huge balloons who say: „Welcome Al“ in the garden. And paper chains at the front gate. I also heard loud pop music and noises of people talking and laughing from the inside of the house.
Should I go back? I could easily go away now, and forget that all that ever happened. I still have the chance to run away now. Why would I care about some stranger? I should just turn around and walk away. Come on Kai, just take a few steps away and let it be. There will be enough other people. He probably forgot about me already. I don’t even drink. What am I doing here?
Sighing I took heart and convinced myself that I had come all that way and there was no going back. As my hand who reached to the front gate was grabbed softly but strong enough to turn my upper body around to the person who was holding said Hand.
„Al?“ I asked confused.
„Hi!“ The other boy said beaming. He turned around still with my hand in his grip and dragged me away from the house.
„What-“ I started to ask now even more confused than before. Why was he dragging me away from the house? But my Question and my confused thoughts were interrupted by a „Shhh“ from Al. I stayed quiet while we were rushing further away from the house into a field.
In the middle of the field I stopped, and pulled my hand away, forcing him to turn around and look at me.
His Eyes were filled with joy and he breathed heavily from the running. So did I. After a short break to catch a breath I asked still a bit puffed: „So, what exactly are we doing here?“
„Running away!“ The boy said full of enthusiasm as if it were the most logical thing to do.
„What- Why? Shouldn’t we be at the party?“ I asked. Pointing with one arm on the house behind us, that now only was a small point in the landscape.
„Don’t worry! My sister won’t even notice that we aren't there. That was more a party for her than for me anyway.“ Al said with a wild smile, that reminded me on a Lion. „I saw you at the front Gate“ now he pointed at the house waving his arm around as he tried to explain, „You looked uncomfortable with going in so I thought you might leave right away. Thats why“ He catches a breath „I thought we could come here parties are boring anyway. I rather spend this time with you than with them.“
Overwhelmed with all this Information I stuttered: „W- Why w- would you want that?“
„What?“ Now it was Al’s turn to be confused.
„Want to be with me rather then with,“ I began to wave with my arm to the house too, trying to find the right word to describe the persons on the party without an insult „them, whoever they are.“
It was silent for a little while. Not a uncountable silence, though. Al just stared at me still with his confused look.
„I mean you don’t even know me why would you want to hang out with me.“ I explained my thoughts to him.
Al started to laugh at first soft then louder and louder until tears started to flow. He wiped them away with the sleeve of his shirt, still holding his stomach from all the laughter. I just stand there watching him slightly amused because of his contagious laugh.
„Isn't that obvious?“ He asked holding back his laughter. „Because you are way more interesting then any of them.“ He said with a warm smile, finally managing to wipe his last tear away.
My cheeks began to heat up. I would say slightly but it wasn’t slightly it was more of a fire red.
