I lay on my back as the lantern flickers lowly, hearing the soft breathing of Lupus on the other side of the room.
Can’t sleep. I think, sitting up as I sigh softly; rubbing my face before resting my elbows on my knees. I look around before slipping out of the semi-warm blanket, feeling the cold dampness hit my legs. I rub my arms as I stand slowly, keeping my eyes on Lupus, don’t wake up. Don’t wake up.
My feet touch the ground, the coldness biting the pads of my feet. I draw in a sharp breath before heading to the door, not letting my whole foot touch the ground. I hear a soft grunt and shuffling, making me stop and look back; seeing Lupus’ back to me.
I sigh slowly, my hand on the doorknob as I slowly turn it; gritting my teeth before slowly opening the door. It squeaks slightly as I stop, glancing at Lupus as he doesn’t move. I slip through before shutting it quietly.
Dear god was that intense. I think as I sigh slowly before looking around, rubbing my arms as I slowly head to where I ended up, kind of hungry. Don’t see any signs for the kitchen either. I think, looking around as the torches flame flickers and dances against the wall.
I continue to walk before hearing a door open slowly, making me tense as I look around for a place to hide, damn it. Damn it. Gonna get caught. I think, hearing a yawn behind me. I close my eyes before turning around slowly, seeing the girl from earlier, Tori I think her name was. I think, seeing her green hair slicked back in a greasy green ponytail.
She stretches as I see her in a pair of shorts and a black tank top, it slipping up as I see a scar going down her stomach. She stops and blinks, turning her head as she looks at me, “Oh, hello,” she says and tilts her head.
“Hi,” I say slowly, Tori looking around before at me, “Kitchen?” she asks me. I nod slowly as she grins, “C’mon,” she says as she starts walking. I blink before I jog over to her.
“So, is that guy like your boyfriend?” she asks, making me blink before my eyebrows furrow, “Who?”
“Uh...Lupus? I think that’s what you called him,” she giggles as she looks at me, tilting her head.
“Oh, no, hell no,” I snort and shake my head, “He isn’t even my type,”
She blinks before chuckling, “Well he seems to like you,” she says, making me cringe, “I hope not, there is nothin’ to like,”
She blinks before tilting her head, “I’m sure that’s not true. You’re a pretty cute guy,” she hums. I shake my head as I rub my arms, her making a turn as I follow her; seeing more light come down the hall.
“Well, I’m Tori, if you forgot. I was a-”
“A miles, yeah, I know. I studied how you moved a lot. More with brutality with your work, punches, kicks. You never used weapons and if you did it was a boot knife,” I say and nod, making her blink before smiling, “A fan are you?”
“I guess you can say that,” I say and rub the back of my head, “One of my Miles would refuse to use anythin’ for a long time, but then she got reassigned,” I say and shrug. She tilts her head, “I see,” she hums before looking forward, “We don’t talk ‘bout our pasts’ much here. So careful who you talk to ‘bout that,” she hums.
I nod as I look around, seeing torches lit along with a door in front of us.
“So, could you not sleep or are you hungry?” she asks and knocks on the door twice, hearing shuffling from behind the door.
“Both, I can;t sleep in an unknown place for a few weeks,” I hum, seeing her nod as the door opens; light flooding in the hall as I see a kid with orange hair, looking up at us before moving out of the way.
“I get it, this is Austin,” she says, pointing to him. I wave slightly as he smiles and waves back.
She heads to a fridge as she hums softly, “So, tell me ‘bout yourself,” she says. I blink before rubbing the back of my head, “uh, alright,”
