I secure everything in my satchel before putting it on.
“I wonder what the HeadMaster wants,” Jean says and looks at me, gripping the strap of his bag.
“I dunno, Je,” I say and head to the door, “Whatever it, it’s important for the top of classes bein’ put together,” I say as I open the door, locking it behind me. He snorts, following me before shutting the door.
Never did find Lupus. I think as I head down the halls, seeing some of the soldiers and their captains following the same.
“I wonder if anyone knows who that...person? Was,” he says as he looks at me, us heading up the spiral staircase as there are people in front of us talking in hushed voices.
“I doubt it, maybe it was a test; to see if we would be prepared,” I say and shrug, “they’ve done it before,”
“Yeah but not with the person bein’ masked,” Jean states, making me shrug again as I look up at the stairs, “I dunno Jean, I dunno.”
We reach the top of the stairs as I see everyone from the top of their class, Carey, Malcolm, Zoe with me and Jean putting us as the top of our classes. Heh, don't see Chris or Lana anywhere; guess they didn’t make it. I look around, seeing Lo, Xavier, and two upperclassmen I havent met.
“Are those-” Jean starts before the doors open, everyone straightening as Jean grunts. I glance at him before I see the HeadMaster, his hair slicked back and having to be a darker rose gold; his suit pressed and black.
We watch as we keep our eyes on him, seeing his wrinkles on his face as he leans on his cane; having a red gem with a gold staff.
“I hope you all are doing well after the event,” he says slowly as it sounds richer than the last time I talked to him. Everyone nods as he nods, looking at all of us before his eyes fix on me, “North,”
“Sir,” I say as I see my knuckles turn white before I relax my hand.
“Come here,” he says as I look at him before going over to him, everyone looking forward as I feel the tension slowly build. I stand in front of him as he tilts his head, seeing his nails slightly long as he reaches his hand up, moving my face around by my chin, “My have you grown,” he chuckles lowly.
I clear my throat and nod, looking at him. He lets me go before turning, “Now, business,” he says as we follow him inside; smelling the amber wood burning in the fireplace and hearing it crackle as the carpet starts with red velvet accents.
We stand and look around a bit, seeing old bind books on the shelves.
“Sir, who was that person?” I hear Malcolm ask, seeing his golden mane as he looks at him.
“You still have no patience, Malcolm,” HeadMaster says as Malcolm straightens, seeing the muscles in his jaw twitch.
“But that is why you all are here, because of the intruder,” HeadMaster says and looks at us all.
Intruder?
