She was born to be a queen. So when she was bothered to King Baise of Crohcus her future was brighter than the sun. It was an excellent deal on her behalf. He was handsome and well-loved by his citizens and all those who knew of his name. The Great King, with the help of her father’s troops, was able to revive the once unstable kingdom of Crohcus and it now thrived better than any ruler before him. All she had to do was birth a son and train him to take over the throne.
A month after their wedding and there were already troubles in their marriage. The soldiers that her father were to send as part of their marriage deal had yet to arrive and rumours of a mistress spread throughout the kingdom.
The second month of their marriage, the promised soldiers had arrived along with an official announcement regarding his mistress. Only difference was that unlike the soldiers, the mistress was not ill with an unknown disease.
Three months into their marriage and all she wanted was for her husband to at least pretending that they were a couple, for her sake. His favour towards his red haired mistress made her too embarrassed to face the public.
The mistress’ personal guard was Captain Yuto and Captain Lane would be by her side when she traveled. All she, the Queen of Crohcus, received was senior officer named Bluehorn. Even her accommodations was large, the second largest after their bedroom, one that he never slept in.
Even as his wife, her announcement of being with child was overshadowed by the mistress’ announcement. An announcement which was rejoiced more by the citizens than when hers was announced two days prior.
Throughout her pregnancy she was alone, often in her chambers, no longer theirs as he spent all his time in hers, staring out the window watching them. He would take daily strolls with her and made sure Julius fed her the best foods. He would personally deliver and shower the red hair mistress with presents for both her and his unborn child. All she got was a messenger once in a blue moon.
She hated how even the commoners knew that if the country wasn’t in such a horrible condition when he ascended the throne the mistress would have become his wife. She hated how the mistress was essentially perfect. She hated how the mistress gave birth first. She hated how she gave birth to a healthy son who was a mix of them both. She hated how she gave birth to a daughter who only looked like her. She hated how he legitimized the son and soon, talks of the end of their marriage spread throughout the kingdom.
She tried to use her father’s influence to keep their marriage intact. However, after a month he gave up. Her father had already received what he needed from her husband meaning that both his daughter and son-in-law did what they were needed to do and they were useless to him. With no family or friends with her, she wondered if being queen was worth it.
That dreaded day finally happened, less than a year later. Oh how she pleaded to keep their marriage intact. She was supposed to be the queen, not that red haired childhood friend. Her opinions didn’t matter. At least he was kind enough to offer her a nice estate and allowed her to stay in court as the mother of his daughter. She had to witness their wedding, something she never thought she would do when she was alive. In the end, the only queen she became was the queen of tragedies.
