Traveling through the depth of Andrea’s portal, Saul was taken deeper and deeper until they came out of another portal and made a rough landing in a huge mountain plateau, while Andrea gently floated down when she exited out of the portal. Saul looked over the horizon and saw that the canyon he went to with Kam and Jax yesterday was over a few miles away.
“Is it just me or are these places conveniently close to the manor and I never noticed them?” Saul asked
“Either that or the writer is running out of ideas of where to place these locations.” Said Andrea as she places, his arms behind her head.
“Wait what?” Saul asked.
“Oh, nothing. ~Shh, he doesn’t need to know.” Said Andrea.
“I swear to god I feel like I’m losing more of my mind whenever I hang out with you guys.” Said Saul as he rubs his head from back landing.
“Well you better hold on to it while you can for today kiddo!” another voice said. Saul immediately looks over and he sees Miyoko flying over the ground with her wings flapping while she snacks on some sweets.
“Miyoko, what are you doing here?” Andrea asks.
“What? You didn’t think I was going to standby back home and deal with Sara’s rampage. And believe me, she is beyond furious that we took you from her.” Miyoko said as she threw out what she ate.
“Great, first getting kidnapped by a masked person now a succubus and a crazy doctor.” Saul exclaims.
“Hey! I am not that crazy!” Andrea shouted.
“Mhm.” Saul sarcastically nodded.
“Well, anyway. I didn’t simply bring you here to enjoy the view. Me and to an extent Miyoko will be teaching you the basics of how to wield magic.” Andrea said as she snapped her fingers.
Another portal opens up as it lifts a table with a huge tome book placed at the center of the table. Alongside the tome is an assortment range of items. Small dolls, talisman necklaces or bracelets, gloves with crystal embedded at the center of the gloves, magic wands, smaller tome books, bell chimes, and lastly sorcery staffs. All neatly arrange the large tome book at the center.
“Pick your poison and we’ll begin.” Andrea said.
Saul walked over to the table as he was overwhelmed with items. What to choose? The talisman? Wands? Sorcery staff? He picks one of the talisman gems to inspect it closely as it resonates with a faint blue hue glow at the center of the gem. However, the glow quickly faded away as he put it back down and took the wand instead. It too resonated faintly yet again as it surrounds itself in the crystal-like aura. He wasn’t sure if the wand itself liked him but he put it back down. Andrea pondered if he can do it depending on which item he will choose. Miyoko on the other hand was getting impatient for him to choose.
Saul then picked up a staff. The staff was wooden, coiled around by black iron wrapping around a small red crystal at the tip of the staff. It gives off a faintly blue glow, however, it seemed weak when he picked them up. Having trouble deciding, he picked up the gloves with a small tome book that’s small enough to fit in his back pocket.
“Hmm, interesting choice kiddo.” Andrea said.
“Well, I was still figuring out which one I wanted but then screw it let’s just see how these would then if we have time we’ll check these out if we can. Up to you guys.” Said Saul as he shrugs it off.
“It’s fine. We’ll use them for now. Then move on to the next ones when we get the chance.” Andrea said as she teleports the rest of the equipment away with her portal magic. She then teleports in a few baristas and dummies for target practice.
“Now while you have gotten two different magic tools, they have different uses. The gloves are mainly used for defensive magic and some forms of offensive element magic while the tome is usually used for supporting roles like healing an ally or shooting some form of sorcery magic. However, the drawback in the tome memorizing the magic and which page they’re at. You can’t summon ever spell on the fly.” Andrea said as she brought in more of the equipment.
“But what about you? I don’t see you speaking out the spell whenever you open the portals to bring this equipment in.” Saul implied.
“In my case, I have grown strong enough to cast magic without speaking them out because I have memorized all fifty thousand spells in all of the demonic realm plus many I have created. Magic isn’t something you could master overnight. That goes for anything you want to learn, even if you have some experience advantages, there’s still room for you to improve, learn, and evolve. Believing that you’re already a master isn’t enough for you to prove enough that you're an expert or even a pro. Everyone still has room enough to learn something, no matter how hard the experience will be to improve yourself. That’s how I learned when I was in the academy.” Andrea said as she finished summoning the equipment.
Saul took her lecture to heart as back home; he wants to be a good artist. And hearing her words and speaking from experience, she knows what it means to go through the struggle and hardships to get where she’s at. This also made him question, can he still make it a good member of the group and pursue his career in the human world.
“Ready kiddo?” Andrea asked.
Miyoko then snaps her fingers as the ballista armed themselves and aimed at Saul.
“First you’re gonna need to learn some defense with your gloves. Say obice when you’re ready. Ready Miyoko!” Andrea shouted.
“Wait what?!” Saul shouted.
Miyoko snaps her fingers as the Ballistas fire all at once with hundreds of crossbow bolts firing at once. Saul raised his hands and shouted out the spell.
“Obice!” he shouted as an energy barrier formed in front of him as many of the bolts shattered on impact at the barrier. However, for every bolt that shattered against the barrier Saul is being pushed back for every rapid-fire bolt. When the last bit of bolts hit the barrier, it exploded and sent Saul flying across the plateau. Andrea raised her arm as a rock wall rose from the ground and stopped Saul in his track.
“Hmm, didn’t expect you to be done so quickly. But you still hold up on your own. A for effort kiddo. C on performance.” Andrea said.
Saul tries to get back up but his hands slipped as he tries to push himself back up. He feels a powerful sting of pain from his hands. He slowly removes his gloves to see his palms were punctured and covered in bruise and blood. This made him terrified but also question how could this happen?
“Magic is an extension of yourself. Do not think of it as something enterally separate object or projectile; it'll bite you in the end. Or in this cause, your hands. Sanitatem.” Andrea said as she crouches down and begins to heal Saul’s wounds with her magic.
“Well, having magic tools is good and all. However, if you want to get offensive it would be better to have if you had weapons at your disposal.” Miyoko shouted.
She then reaches her hand in between her cleavages and pulls out a lash whip. Saul blushes out and looks away for a brief moment but then sees the whip. She then snaps her fingers as target dummies popped out of the ground. She then walked towards the dummies as she pulled and cracked her whips. As she cracks the whips, electricity begins to spark and crackle from her hands then begins to circulate through her whip. She then twirls her whip around and spun and lashed out against the dummies as they were sliced in half from one stroke then exploded from her electricity. Snapping her finger again, she summons more dummies and lashes out over and over again as the dummies got bigger and bigger but they were being obliterated by her whip lashes got stronger and stronger for every She then pulls the whips and wraps it around her hand. Saul marveling at Miyoko’s power and skill with her whip is unreal. She then turned back towards Saul and gave him a wink to which he blushed off red.
“You think you could tone it down just a bit?” Andrea asks. “But, I prefer to use magic with my own hands. Weapons are good and all but they can only do so much.” She further implies.
Andrea took in a deep breath and stomped her foot on the ground as a bolder popped out of the ground. Instantly, Saul recognizes that same movement, she did it as the same as the masked person from yesterday. Does this mean she learned it from her? Andrea then punches the boulder towards one of the training dummies as it blew a clean hole at the dummy’s torso. She thrust her other fist as a burst of flame blew from her hand as it lit the surrounding dummies and even the ballista. Andrea was in shock as she overdid it with her flames and quickly put them out by pulling water out of her flask and putting them out all at once. She breathes a sigh of relief and puts the water back in her flask.
“Magic from your hands is good and all but magic weapons are the best way to go.” Miyoko pointed out as she pulled out Saul’s sword from her chest.
“Hey! My sword!” Saul shouted.
“I’m only borrowing it kiddo!” Miyoko said as she unsheathes the blade from its scabbard. “Inferno!” She yells as she twirls the blade around her as she infuses it with pink fires.
She dashes towards the dummies and cuts them down one by one and a lit flame by the fire surrounds the sword. She twirls the sword vertically and the flames from the sword burst out in a focus like cuts from the tip of the blade and cut the surface of plateau and release one more swipe as a powerful blaze cut was released from the sword as it went as far to the next mountain range miles away from the plateau. The cut impacted the mountain as it was set ablaze from the impact. Andrea sighed and she waved her hands towards the mountains as the clouds began to swarm around the mountain as the clouds turned black as rain befalls upon the mountains.
“Magic infusing your weapons is good but rather barbaric if you ask me. Now if you don’t mind me Miyoko, I’ve lessons to teach the kiddo.” Andrea said.
“Well, what if his magic is not strong enough to kill his foe. The next best thing for him is to infuse magic into his weapons and fight slightly dirty.” Miyoko implies as she puts away the sword in its scabbard and shoves it in her chest.
“Well, yes. But it would be best for him to at least learn and improve himself with the basics.” Andrea implied.
“But if he has no time to learn? He will need to learn how to improvise.” Miyoko argued back.
Andrea and Miyoko began to start arguing about how Saul should be learning magic. However, as they arguing, Saul was lost deep within his mind. Could he learn magic especially with one misstep? Sure, he pulled off of making a barrier but it didn’t last long. Andrea’s and Miyoko’s power beyond his imagination and reminds him of how much of a power gap he has between him and the rest of the members. He then grips his injured hand then puts his gloves back on. As Andrea and Miyoko continue to argue, Saul breaks the argument by speaking up.
“Then I learn them both!” Saul shouted.
“Huh?” Miyoko and Andrea said.
“I’ll do both tactics. I’ll learn how to improve my magic and learn to improvise in tough situations. I’ll prove it to you both!” Saul shouted.
Miyoko and Andrea turn to each other and they both thought of how can he learn them both?
“Then show us!” Miyoko turns back towards Saul as she pulls out Saul’s sword from her chest and tosses it to him. Saul catches and immediately pulls the sword out from the scabbard and swipes his gloves against the blade.
“Inferno!” he shouted. The blade then ignites itself with an orange glow as the blade erupts from Saul’s gloves.
He then dashes towards Miyoko. Miyoko snaps her fingers as more rock dummies emerge from the ground below him and begin attacking him. Saul steps and slashes his against one of them as it superheats the blades and melts through the rock dummy’s head and then he rolls behind another dummy and swipes his sword against another dummy. However, the dummy stops the blade by grabbing the sword halfway through cutting its head. Saul kicked the dummy to release his sword as it stumbled forward, but it also left him wide open for an attack behind as another dummy took a swing at him from behind.
“Obice!” he shouted as a barrier bubble formed around him and bounced him back towards a large group of dummies and bursts upon impact.
Saul rolled from the impact and quickly gets back and takes his stance as the dummies rebuild themselves and attack again. He dodges a left hook and swipes his sword at the dummy as it crumbles but quickly regenerates itself and joins the others by surrounding Saul. Saul quickly punches the ground with his left arm as a small rock pops out of the ground then he kicks it towards one of the dummies as it bursts its head clean off. Though the force he put into the kick itself crippled him as his leg was bent backward. He lets his contract mark activate as it drops from 13 to 10 as it heals his legs. One of the dummies charges as Saul while he heals but he slams his fist while it charges as a boulder pops out below the dummy and bursts its head. Exhausted from casting magic nonstop, he felt his body wavering in and out of consciousness. Another dummy comes at him from behind and takes a swing at Saul’s head. Saul ducks from the swing and shoves his left hand at the dummy, shouting one last spell.
“Inferno!” he shouted.
The palms of his glove lit as it builds up a huge amount of energy and explodes the dummy and sends Saul flying and skips across the plateau. He yells in pain as he looks over to his arm and his hand is not there anymore. All that’s there is a burnt stub as his bone is poking out and burnt to a crisp. But despite the pain, he gets back and takes his stand as the rest of the dummies charge at him in a large group but then they crumble away as they were halfway there.
“Okay, I think that’s enough for one day.” Andrea said as she was the one who called off the dummies.
“No… I can still go on…. I am not done yet.” Saul said as his hand slowly begins to form from his arm. As his bones and muscles begin to regenerate, his contract appeared as the numbers dropped one by one as it was stopped 3. Andrea stops him however as she pokes his forehead.
“I said, enough.” She said.
She flicks Saul’s forehead as he was tossed back and lost consciousness. Saul tried to get back but his mind was going back and passes out and drops his sword.
“Was that necessary sister?” Miyoko asked.
“If I just let him continued, he would die faster from mana lose. And Sara wouldn’t like it if I broke her toy after just meeting him.” Andrea said.
“You know she’s gonna be mad at us when we get home. Right?” Miyoko said.
“Oh, I know. Figure we wait for a little and spent some time in town while she spends some quality time with the kiddo.” Andrea implied.
“Aww but that’s what I wanted to do with him!” Miyoko complained.
“Miyoko, you’ll just eat his soul if you do.” Andrea said.
“Uughh! Fine! When do I get my chance with him?” Miyoko grouns.
“Never.” Andrea replied.
“Oh come on!”
