*Hmm. All the alibis seemed to check out, which usually means someone is lying.* I couldn’t worry about that now, though, I was busy searching Mackenzie’s room. She had enough Three Directions posters and collectibles to open her own shop. This was taking a lot longer than it should have because apparently the pristine, flawless girl stopped at the doorway and let several tornadoes go through her room. I finally located her computer and phone. Now we’re getting somewhere.
Hacking the computer was easy since I’ve been doing it since I was big enough to hold a mouse. Once inside I discovered several dozen folders with, surprise surprise, more Three Directions pictures and music. The only interesting thing was a single saved document, which seemed to be addressed to a company. I wrote down the name, then hacked into her phone. After skimming through even more of Mackenzie’s boy band obsession, I discovered many texts to the same number labeled only as A+. I forwarded the number to my computer so I could run a search on it later before reading through the texts. They mostly consisted of demands and threats to send the email I found earlier if the demands were not met. Then, I went back to the dorm Hades and I were sharing to start the search for the mysterious number.
“Are you alright?” I looked up from my semicircle of computers as Hades entered the room.
“Fine. Why?” I cocked my head at his question.
“You’ve been smiling like it’s Christmas since the police said you could run the investigation.” he replied.
“Sorry, I’m just excited. I’ve always wanted to solve a mystery like Sherlock or Poirot. I’ll try to keep the smiling to a minimum.” I chuckled sheepishly.
