This bit was recent. My dad must have heard about these other middle-aged Korean women studying real estate to get their licenses. He suggested my mom take it, since English is not a huge requirement. And then he suggested it to me.
He thinks that I plan on living all my life earning $8 an hour? No! I plan on living on enough independently, making art and comics! It was like he had no faith in my ability, and that I had already flopped bottom. It's like he's seeing me just do nothing but draw for fun. I'm actually trying to build up my name. I'm still writing and polishing my stories. It's frustrating when people doubt you, just because you don't crank out results faster. I listened to their advice, and I've paid for it. I don't intend to do so again.
sigh...for those who read the long comments, sorry that I'm venting my frustrations here.
Beeswhacks is a semi-real autobiography of my life before and after college, and a few bits of my first year of teaching.
Only difference, everyone in the world is a bee.
