There it is again; the whispering again. People calling my name, calling just loud enough for me to hear them, but still soft enough for me to not hear where it's coming from. "Luna?" a woman who is much closer to me, says my name, snapping me out of my trance. "Your eyes..." I take out my phone & am met with caramel colored skin, messy white hair & blue eyes, that are shaking. I take a few deep breaths. "S-Sorry Demi." she sighs; in her 30's, 32 to be exact, with pale skin & green eyes, Demi has been with me for years. Her hair is a Mohawk, that she keeps on the left side of her head; there's a long scratch starting at the bridge of her nose & goes to her left jawbone, courtesy of me. She's wearing a old faded peach top with jeans & a denim jacket; around her neck is a necklace that matches mine. It's two hearts intertwined together; she puts her hand on my forehead. We're siting on a patio at a restaurant for dinner that's attached to a mall, a simple thing that I love to do.
"Voices again?"
"Mhm..."
"Sound familiar?"
"No... I don't think so..."
"You can tell me."
"It's really nothi-"
I feel eyes on me & Demi notices immediately; she's a behavioral analyst, but still counts as a cop. It's pretty cool, but can still be scary; still, she wouldn't've found me if that wasn't the case. I glanced behind me & see a woman staring at me. She seemingly vanishes into the crowd of people that are walking past. "Was she-" "No... heh, they're dead remember?" she sighs. "But the kids! You didn't want us to-" the waitress came back with food & I gave a weak smile. "C-Can we eat? Please?" another sigh; it was her favorite thing to do. "Sure Luna... sure." we started to eat, talking about nothing in particular. "Nice, nice. Oh! Your music, how's that going?" I sigh a bit. "Slow... it's getting a bit frustrating... but dancing is going well though." she nods. "Good, g-" something makes her smile come a scowl.
"Is it David-"
"It's fucking David."
"Want me to send him away?"
"Just... wait for a signal."
I felt a hand on my shoulder that made me jump; looking behind me I saw a pale man. He was maybe 29 or so & wore a smug grin; his freckles were clearly drawn on based on how perfect they were. His light brown hair looked fluffy, like a poodle. Sadly, his eyes weren't much to look at, nor was his skinny frame. What was he even wearing? Grey shirt, black vest with jeans, a noticeably large gild belt buckle & biker gloves; I was pretty sure he drove a Honda Civic, not a bike. "Well, well, well; my two favorite g-" "Spare me." Demi says as I remove his hand from my shoulder. "Well damn. & to think-" he goes to pull up a chair. "Stop." I say; he does, but instead leans on the table. "I had missed you so much." Demi was getting angry to the point of shaking. "David. Leave... now." she growls. David had always been overly friendly to say the least & cartoonishly pervy to say the most. They had used to date in school, based on what I was told. "Awww, c'mon! Why not just-" Demi stood up & walked off; where was she going? "Talk about a cold shoul-" Demi was back with two cups of something & a receipt. "We're leaving; Luna." I grabbed my stuff & went after her, but not before making one last comment. "Go home David."
"Well... that was... something." I say. "How're you? Head doing ok? I know throwing around Orders makes you-" I froze outside of a Hot Topic in the mall, staring inside. "I wanna grab some stuff." it wasn't odd of me to go into this store, but what was odd was how I went straight for the body jewelry. "Ok, what's the deal?" I start speaking with a red headed store employee instead, asking for three packs of universal nose rings; silver, black & dark purple. I then run run over to the hair accessories & other jewelry & look there. Demi just follows me, not saying anything. We paid & left as she hits me with questions. "What was that?" I shrug. "A guy at school got in a fight... they ripped out his earrings... I thought I should get him some new ones. That's all." Demi let out a squealing sound.
"Aww, you've got a crush!"
"No!"
"Oh really?"
"Y-Yes! He's just someone I wouldn't mind having as an actual friend. Not like the others who get drawn to me because of... you know."
"He immune?"
"No, but he doesn't seem to care... he seems like he'd be a good friend."
"Alright, alright. Potential new friend have a name?"
"C-Crow..."
"Crow?"
"Crow Case... d-don't be mad!"
"I'm not mad but... well, of course... that the kid who gets into fights all the time. I get a call for him every few days."
"So it isn't worth it?"
"Didn't say that. Just... well, don't be upset if he doesn't care."
"Got it."
We continued to walk around, chatting about the upcoming week & anything new that was going to happen. "Hey-" she suddenly pulls me in close for a hug, wrapping her arm around my shoulders. "Y'know, you're a good kid. I don't feel like I say it enough." I smile. "Thanks... that means a lot. If only the other kids-" there was that feeling of being watched again. This time, it felt like the eyes were overhead, as if on a security camera. "Luna!" I was yanked to the side; I nearly ran into a pillar. "Thanks... sorry... I'm not sure what's wrong with me today." she looked at me.
"Migraines?"
"Yeah... guess it's from seeing David."
"Still. You're limit lately has been 10, not 2."
"G-Guess I put too much emphasis on the stop...?"
She bought it & we continued to relax at the mall, but this time... the feeling of being watched didn't leave me.
