"Let me see it!" snapped Gabe, who grabbed the tome from Ben's grasp and glanced at the first page. He too saw that it sported the same passage the others had all read. "It's just that stupid nightfall verse!"

"Gabe!" exclaimed Mrs. Benson. "You've been acting obnoxiously all day! First acting up in the pool, then going through the suitcase, now this! I think someone is in need of a time out. Go to your room."

"But Mom!" whined Gabe as Grandpa yanked the tome from his hands.

"Now, Gabe," he said sternly. "I'm inclined to agree with her, and since this is my house, I expect you to follow my orders."
