A Little girl crawled through the cold and the snow, escaping from the big bright lights for the regular lights of the military base camp. When she got there the soldiers all around her.
“Darla?!” Screamed one of the men, “What are you—Where is everybody?”
“I don’t know… I don’t know where my family is” Darla cried.
The man grabbed her and hugged her. Darla usually stayed at the base camp playing with her dolls but today she had jump into her dad’s jeep on a whim.
“It's okay Darla, everything is going to be okay,” he lied “would you like to go to grandma’s? I’m sure she misses you a lot.”
Still crying, Darla nodded as the man let out a sigh of relief. He would make sure the kid had some sense of normality before everything turned into a living hell.
Her father and his team of Scientists had come to the base to prove God didn’t exist, yet they had achieved quite the opposite. Problem was Xer were like nothing they had expected and now that the cat was out of the bag they were not going to rest in peace. Nothing would ever be like it used to.
