Sasha turned to face the man. "I'm glad to see you participating so enthusiastically, Mr. McKinley."
Jack smirked, folding his arms and standing rather proudly. Kilt and all. "Well I felt it only right as a parent to give it me all."
The moms off to the side watched this with very rapt attention.
"I am, Mr. Fujimori, fully invested in my daughter's education."
"Of course," Sasha replied. He was feeling very hot suddenly as he kept eye contact with Jack. He wanted to look away, find some excuse to end this exchange that had barely begun. "I can see that."
"She speaks very highly of ye," Jack added after a moment. His smirk hadn't faded in the least. Damn does he not look deliciously adorable again. Good enough to eat. This was all running through Jack's mind.
Sasha was dressed in his usual slim slacks and collared shirt. However, instead of the suspenders he had a fitted vest that suited him quite nicely. At least, Jack thought so. It had been awhile since someone had captured his attention so fully. Now if he could only win him over with his charm. He had charm, right? He had some at some point in his life.
Sadly for him, Sasha was trying his all to resist. "Well, I'm happy to hear that. She's a good student, very bright." Though he hadn't voiced it yet, he also had concerns about her sociability. Friendships were just as important as education in the early stages of life.
"By the way, ye have a bit of cake on the corner of yer mouth," Jack replied. Sasha's cool exterior he had been showing the other man cracked a little as his eyes widen and his cheeks flushed. He wiped at his face instantly turning slightly away. Only a moment ago he had popped the rest of the little cake in his mouth and apparently some had stuck to his face.
Have I just been talking to him like that this whole time? Sasha was a little mortified.
Jack just thought he was even more endearing.
"Thanks," he finally mumbled a little awkwardly.
"Not to worry, wee barra."
Sasha gave him an odd glance uncertain what that meant but the way he said it sounded very affectionate. He adjusted his glasses. "Well I better check on more booths..."
"Yes, of course. Ye still haven't visited Scotland yet," Jack said with as much as flirtatious meaning as he could muster. Ah, I think he blushed again.
Sasha stiffly nodded and immediately made his way to a booth in the opposite direction. Jack was immensely pleased with himself as he watched him walk off. He noticed the moms finally and gave them a nod and smile. Jack made his way back to the booth.
"Was I the only one who noticed the sexual tension there?"
"What? No way..."
The gals gabbed and gossiped on the topic for quite awhile.
The rest of the culture day went pretty smoothly. Sasha managed to keep it entirely together when he finally made his way to the Scotland booth. Of course he waited til Jack had gone to the restrooms before he did like a coward. He was though impressed with Abby's group though he was certain their teamwork did leave something to be desired.
Jack was right though. He took home the majority of the haggis. More for him he supposed. He had brought the truck this time so Abby and him packed it up quietly. His thoughts were lost in dark brown eyes and rosy cheeks.
He was pulled from his reverie when he caught his daughter yawning. "Alright, wee plum, let's get ye to bed." He opened the passenger side for her. As he came around to the driver's side, he saw the silhouette of Mr. Fujimori as he stepped out of what must be his vehicle. He looked...irritated.
Jack glanced back at Abby in the cab of the truck. She seemed to be starting doze off. Long day and all. He made his way over to her teacher. "Car troubles?"
Sasha stiffened a moment before peering over at him. He felt some embarrassment and wished it was anyone but Abby's dad. "It...won't start."
He nodded and smiled. "Alright, lift the hood."
