Chapter 16
Jade seriously wanted to run out of the room.
He had been hoping to cross the territory undetected, cause no harm and then cross back.
Not cross the territory, be detected, and then not cross back.
He felt like things were going entirely off course and had no way of steering this sinking ship.
Ryuu purred next to him, nuzzling his leg in concern.
He dropped his hand down to pet his dragons head, the vibrations from his purr soothed him some.
The King waved his hand and everyone else in the room turned to leave.
Jade wished he could follow as well but he was pretty sure he wasn't supposed to.
After everyone left the King stood up from his throne and walked down the steps towards Jade.
Ryuu circled around Jade nervously, making huffing noises as the man came closer.
Jade continued to look down at the floor.
He was pretty damn sure he was in trouble for trespassing into another country without permission.
Even if the man had decreed him a Prince.
Suddenly the King lifted up his hand, causing Jade to flinch and Ryuu to hiss.
He gently grabbed Jades chin and turned his head upwards to look into the King's eyes.
Jade's eyes widened once he looked at him fully.
His eyes were a pure gold, strange but vibrant and seemed powerful.
His eyes are strange like mine….Jade thought dumbly.
It wasn't just his eyes that were strange but his hair was silver and shone almost as bright as his eyes.
“Silver and gold..” Jade said and then flushed in embarrassment.
The King blinked and his pupils seemed to grow bigger as he looked at Jade.
He let his face go and Jade looked back down at the ground.
“You… do not need to look at the ground around me.” The King said.
Jade tried to look back up but without his glasses on he felt self conscious and ended up looking off to the side...and then to the floor again.
“I’m not… good with eye contact… your Majesty.”
“You… do not need to call me that either, Vince will do.”
Jade pursed his lips but nodded hesitantly.
“I have a feast being prepared so we can talk over dinner…..get to know each other...alright?”
Jade was extremely confused as to why they were going to get to know each other, but this was better than being killed or imprisoned for trespassing.
He hesitantly nodded and followed the King out of the room.
The hallways were very dim and it was hard for Jade to even really see where he was going.
He kept a hand on Ryuu and did his best to follow his dragon's lead.
But he ended up almost tripping over something and was caught by strong arms.
He couldn't see the King's face but he knew it was very close and Jade's own face began to burn in embarrassment.
“You can hold onto my arm until we get there, I plan to have the servants light the hallways better while you stay here.”
Jade grabbed the man's arm still embarrassed as he was led to wherever they were going.
...How long was he going to be staying though?
