Chapter 15
Vince stared at himself in the mirror, looking himself up and down trying to make sure he looked clean and as well dressed as he could be.
“Sire….the Prince has arrived at the castle.” The Oracle said through the door.
“Good, have them prepare a meal, anything he would like to eat, you should be able to find out right?”
“Yes your Majesty.”
Vince nodded and walked out the door past the small old woman.
His eyes scanned down the darkened hallway as he went towards the throne room.
He would have to tell the servants to light the hallways from now on, otherwise his soulmate might get lost or scared in them.
He went to his throne and sat down, making sure to retract his claws and fangs he usually kept out to intimidate his subjects.
From what the guards who had met him before had said, his mate appeared a bit meek and calm.
He absolutely did NOT want to scare him.
Especially if he was human from the human territories.
He wondered how his mate had gotten in contact with a dragon…. How he had managed to tame one as well was a mystery.
Dragons were well known to be wild and usually attacked on sight. Yet from what the report had said he had acted like a loyal companion.
Even protecting and letting him hand feed him.
Vince couldn't help but chuckle lightly.
“My soulmate might just be a greater King of the Beasts than I….”
A loud knock pulled him out of his thoughts and made him sit back up.
His heart started to hammer.
“Enter.” He said, hoping his voice didn't sound off.
The doors slowly opened and his golden eyes widened as they landed on his soulmate.
To him he was a bit short which he found adorable, his hair was as black as a raven's wing, falling gently into his eyes.
THOSE EYES………… Vince thought in astonishment.
He had seen them before in the oracle's crystal ball but the image was nothing in comparison to the real thing.
The beautiful jade green was both shocking and breathtaking.
Vince sat there stunned as the man walked into the room towards Vince.
His mate appeared wary and a little nervous.
I will have to try to calm him down, Vince thought.
After he calmed himself down first.
He looked down at the dragon encircling his mate and blinked.
A strange hint of green mist was surrounding it and even with his sensitive eyes it was hard to notice.
He looked back up to his mate in mild confusion.
He could have sworn he had felt magic….old magic radiating off the animal.
Vince looked towards the oracle.
She was looking at Jade strangely, seeming entirely confused but after a moment her eyes widened in shock.
She turned towards him and then lowered her gaze.
He would have to talk to her later he supposed.
“Welcome Jade of the Human Territory, what brought you over to our Kingdom?”
He would be lying if he said he didn't hope it was about him.
But he had already been informed that the man probably had zero idea who he even was to him.
Jade looked up, meeting his eyes for a second and knocking Vinces breathe out of him before looking down to the floor.
“I had been invited to participate in the gaming tournament by some friends…..” He said quietly.
HIS VOICE, Vince thought.
It was gentle and calm, there was a strength to it but he could tell his mate had a calm and possibly submissive nature to him.
But there definitely was something strong in his gaze.
Something that demanded respect.
Although Vince was more than willing to give that to him.
