I sit in my dorm, the curtains dimming the room as the fake stars twinkle on the ceiling. I look at the binder of plans as Lupus’s video comes to mind, he’s...really something. I think as I lean back on the headboard of the bed, staring at the binder, all the tactics I’ve made….don’t compare to how bloodthirsty he is. I think as I sigh and lay down.
I put my arm over my eyes as I hear the door open and close, “Are you wallowing again?” I hear Jean ask.
“No,” I growl as I hear him chuckle before hearing the creak of the bed, “What’s wrong?”
“I got assigned a guy where he’s just ruthless,”
“Aren’t they all ruthless?” he snorts.
“Well yes….but…,” I say before I sit up and grab my tablet, turning it on before I stand and walk across the room.
“But?” he says as the light illuminates my face, “he’s different,” I say as I hand him the tablet. He eyes me before he presses play and watches, hearing the audio from it as an eyebrow raises from him before he mutters a ‘holy shit’.
“See!” I say as I hear hushing from the next dorm. Jean hands it back to me, “I’ve never seen him before, you sure he goes here?” he asks and crosses his arms. I turn it off and nod, “I’m sure, but you realize...students have to go on the field, exams,” I hiss.
“You do great for your squad during exams,” he says and waves me away. I glare at him, “What if I can’t control him? What if he kills his teammates?” I say as I grip the metal in my hands. Jean stands and puts his hands on mine, his eyes a dark blue but glow in the darkness, “Even so, you have passed with few casualties, and taming him would make you even greater,” he says as I blink.
I tilt my head before I look down, he has a point.
“So don’t freak out, tame the beast,” he says as I feel his cool fingertips dig into my skin. I nod and look at him, “Tame it, right,” I say before I head to my desk, tame the beast. Tame it.
