Chapter 13
Jade breathed in and sent out a streamline of mist to the tank as fire damage started to eat at his health.
This boss didn't seem to have large damage hits, only a lot of damage over time or dots.
It seemed to be going well after a few minutes in but once the bosses health got to half the pool of lava turned black and it screamed.
“UNGRATEFUL LITTLE CHILDREN! I’LL SHOW YOU NOT TO MESS WITH A WOMAN'S HEART!”
Before Jade knew what was happening a tentacle shot out and lifted his character up into the air, bringing him towards the monsters mouth.
He swung his staff at the boss's head but it barely did anything.
Before Jade could be swallowed up however an arrow shot past him and dug itself into the bosses eye.
Jade’s character fell to the ground but was caught by a melee teammate and Jade quickly moved back to the ranged group.
Several more times the boss tried to grab him or the tank to swallow but each time a ranged team member launched an attack at the beasts face, saving them.
Once the bosses health got down to a third it let out a loud shriek and began to thrash its tentacles around the room.
It hit several party members, throwing them to the back and taking out chunks of health Jade worked to heal back up.
It continued to scream and cuss them out while throwing people against the walls until its health depleted and it melted inside its own lava pit.
The last boss was going to be The Crying Dragon.
His teammates moved as fast as they could beating the hell out of the mobs before the next door with Jade in tow.
They all stopped before the door to refresh their potions and eat herbs to negate some water damage.
“Alright we all know the drill! This boss is harder than normal, ranged keep up with poison spells and arrows ok!?
Everyone nodded and Jade stood behind the team as Ranydom finished his talk and turned to open the door.
The tank walked slowly into the room and everyone else fanned out on the sides, staying way behind him.
Jade looked up at the large water dragon who appeared almost asleep in a ball, floating above everyone.
It occasionally breathed out cold mist that fell to the ground, covering the floor.
The tank raised his shield and smashed his sword against it, causing the dragon who was basically just water to vibrate and ripple.
It uncurled itself and let out a loud roar.
The mists that covered the floor wrapped around everyone's feet, causing everyone to move slower.
The melee had issues with moving properly to dodge attacks the boss started with.
The Crying Dragon made loud gurgling noises as it slashed at people, taking out large chunks of their health.
Jade worked desperately to fill up everyone's health after the first attack.
He thunked his staff against the floor several times as he let out pulses of light to heal everyone in the party.
He could hear behind him the crowd was being loud for some reason but he was too focused on keeping his teammates alive to check what was happening.
The boss let out a loud roar and hissed out a red mist that stuck to everyone, draining their health.
Jade thunked his staff harder against the floor and started spreading his green mist to counteract the red one the boss made.
Jade was glad the boss had very low means of guarding itself.
Even if it had scales they were made of water and poison or fire damage seemed to be taking out large chunks of its health.
Once its health got to half way it let out a loud roar and started to spasm in the air, smashing against walls and the floor.
Everyone had a hard time hitting it as it moved around randomly, even causing some of the ceiling to start to fall apart.
Chunks of rock started falling and people had to resort to dodging.
Jade moved around trying not to get hit by rocks and noticed that the boss had a yellow area on its stomach.
He turned to look over at the archers and ranged group.
“Range! Focus on its yellow underside!” He yelled out.
His teammates seemed taken aback but looked at the beast for a moment before nodding and taking aim.
They all split up and climbed over rocks to get closer in hopes of actually hitting.
The melee group surrounded the ranged and worked to bat away any falling debris as they got closer.
Jade started forming small shields above the group to help combat the beasts' mess.
