The four walls of a small motel room vibrates, not as violent like an earthquake but more like a rocking bus that constantly fails to shift gears smoothly on an unobstructed highway.
The room was small indeed and sparsely furnished, just a small dressing table by the door with an old CRT TV on it tuning to some old soap opera reruns, a faulty mini bar by the side and a queen size bed with a large overhead mirror above the ceiling designed to reflect the occupants of the bedroom drastically when they get into their act.
And speaking of that, two lovebirds are actually blowing steam, rocking that old stained bed back and forth like a baby crib that is being swayed around by a ferocious woman. A half empty bottle of red wine with its contents almost fully drained on the old rug under the bed. Cigarette butts lies scattered on the floor. The room smell dank and smoky and...hot.
The man seems to be doing his job pretty well, fully in his dominant missionary position, he thrust his shaft inwards, his fuck stick...sliding in and out rhythmically in her moist vagina, while she moans like a purring pussy cat.
As the male reaches his climax and readies to ejaculate, intuitively the woman grabs her partner pelvis so tight with her hips like a crab clutching her prey with her pincer claws - and that moment truly makes her lover feels like a man - as he let go a long sigh of relief - his thick whitish discharge from his long shaft splattered over the skinny female belly.
"Well done Ed...u are getting better at it, soon you will be a porn star." proclaim Natalia Egleens in a shortness of breath.
Edward Bailer just crouch by the bedside, already a lit cigarette in hand, he puffs the smoke out gently but his look is of a man overwhelmed with vexation.
"Well did I over performed?" exclaim Natalia in distress.
"No no...there is nothing wrong with you...its just the..."
"The case right?" Natalia finishes his sentence.
"Yes it is...I just feel it's totally odd...I mean who will do such a thing like that to an innocent unborn child? It's just totally horrific."
"Nothing more than some sick bastard that we should be putting behind bars soon!" exclaims Natalia excitedly.
"I have a feeling we are not looking at the right direction, I mean what if all this has to do with..."
Suddenly the detective cellphone rang and the caller name appears distinctively - BILLIE, SHERIFF. Edward curses in a whisper seeing that troubled spelled name.
"Detective, I am afraid you better pay our morgue a little visit. We have our third and fourth victim right now."
"WHAT?...did you said two?"
"It's getting serious Ed...I think we better think of something fast."
"I am on my way Sheriff..."said Edward as he hangs up and looks grimly towards his lovers eyes.
Moments later, Candice arrive dreadfully at the town's only hospital and its only functional morgue, the town's council just close the previous run-down morgue from a small infirmary not long ago and turn it into an attractive small museum displaying the old glories of fishing in Albudeen town, how queer indeed.
Candice swore that she will never walk into another morgue again after a mishap on her previous assignment - one that puts her sleepless for nights. Still - she can't reject her old man's wishes to become forensic today - how silly. Instinctively she walks towards the short corridor leading to the freezer room. Her black heels echoes loudly throughout the cold and deserted pathway leading to the corpse room.
As she arrives, she was astounded to see a large crowd being gathered in the rather big and fully equipped mortuary. Her father Billie waves at her and introduces her daughter briefly to the attendees. She can see Edward and Natalia, the deputies Simon and Jacobson and finally the coroner - James Mckees who is looking very concerned - like he just lost his keys to his car.
"Ladies and gentlemen, what you are about to witness...is quite mind boggling," the coroner suggests.
"Lets cut to the chase and show us what ye got." said Edward impatiently.
"Right away." James lifted two white sheets with bloodied stains on them. Immediately Natalia and Candice turns away at the repulsive sight.
Right before them, lies two corpses...this time with their entire half of the abdomen gone - leaving a bloodied tangled mess of half eaten intestines still entwined with one another like a knitted sweater. But what struck them most is the look on both of the women faces...twisted as if torn in agony with their eyeballs rolled upwards.
"Jesus...this is totally inhumane." said Jacobson still staring in awe and shock at the same time.
"In my entire career as a coroner, I have never seen anything like this."
"Well you are about to..." Jacobson was suddenly interrupted by Candice as she abruptly picks up a forceps lying next to the deputy and ply what seems to resemble a teeth lodged deeply into one of the women's vertebra.
"Does this look like a teeth?" said Candice shakily.
"Yes it does and I am afraid it belongs to a human and not an animal." said her father.
"Good eye on that...I could have miss on that tiny one." said Edward.
"But how come his teeth got dislodged this time? she must have put up a good fight with him until he snaps." said Simon.
"And how come we have two bodies at the same time? are there two different killers right now?" ventured Natalia.
The coroner moves to a corner table - picks up a file and reads. "I think they are both related, they are sisters actually...the one on the left is Jennifer and the right is Amanda...they both belonged to the hawkshore family.
"So this happens in the same place?" asked Edward.
"Yes it is...on a house just across the street from our station...man this bastard is damn fucking bold! I mean he does his thing just right under our noses." answered Simon angrily.
"And none of you all heard anything?" asked Edward annoyingly.
"Nope...we didn't even get any calls until this morning when their father returns from a fishing trip." said Jacobson.
"Well at least we can identify now that it's not done by some kind of animal that we presumed earlier." said Billie still wiping the cold sweat from his forehead witnessing the carnage before him.
Edward inspect the bodies closer and tries to find the number 666 on both of the corpses but there is none to be found this time. "Strange...they both don't exhibit the numbers that Michelle Anderson has on her intestines."
"You mean this one?" Candice points at Jennifer's half eaten liver - the number 666 is distinguishable but looked burnt into the flesh. Candice quickly dons a glove from a tray nearby and inspects Amanda's liver - and found the same mark on it too.
"Great eyesight bunny...I know you will be a good help in all this." said her father proudly as Candice winks back at him in acknowledgment.
"So now we can profile this serial killer...a man...probably in his mid thirties or forties." suggested Natalia.
"Yeah and some sick old bastard that just loves to eat a woman's womb and her kids...try putting that out for a resume though." adds Jacobson.
"Not so fast guys...not until we get his teeth analyzed and find out what kind of profile he is." said Simon.
"Billie, how many more ladies are they expecting their child soon in this town? I mean in their late trimester stage." asked Edward.
"I am not sure, heck we have about three thousand people living in this god forsaken town." answered Billie.
"That's about three hundred families out there...gosh we wont be able to cover them all." exclaims Natalia.
"Perhaps you can start upstairs right here in this hospital." suggested the coroner, who seems to be deep in thought.
"Good thinking James...me and Natalia will check the records of all the preggers that did their checkup in this hospital meanwhile you guys better get some patrolling done in this area...but do it subtlety...we won't want to cause a sudden panic in this town - do we?" ordered Edward.
"Like it or not...this thing is going to get ugly and sideways soon." Billie Emmelton adds.
"I'll take his teeth to the forensics." suggested Simon Taigen.
Everybody in the room seems to agree with one another as they quickly sprung into action. Candice took one last look at the victims, imagining their horrifying screams and the pain that they have suffered.
Shortly- Edward and Natalia exits from the lift and catches their breath as if they were locked in an awful dungeon for some time. They both hurried to the main entrance of the hospital - and they both noticed that the single receptionist on duty was also pregnant and seems to be in her advanced stage.
"How can I help you?" her name tag flashes with the name Anna Janok.
"Look Anna, I am detective Edward and this is my partner Natalia. Could we take a look at all your patients that are registered as pregnant."
"Ohh...sure detective...you guys sure can whiz around in here and just take whatever that you fancy."
"What did you just said?" asked Edward annoyed.
"Just a second." Anna types a few keystrokes on her computer swiftly and pulls out a few pieces of paper from her printer and hands them over to Edward.
"What the fuck!...there's about a hundred over pregnant ladies in this list." Edward exclaims.
"Excuse me!" said Anna dumbfounded.
"Sorry...if you don't mind...could you sort the list to show those who are in their third trimester stage at the top instead." Natalia winks at Edward.
"Yeah sure I can do that madam...wait another second." Anna types on her keyboard again and prints out the list as she whispers quietly. "At least this one is polite."
"What did you say again?" asked Edward angrily.
As Edward snatch the papers from the nurse and they both scan the pages together - and they both utter at the same time. "Thirty preggers!"
"Yup I guess this must be the harvest season after all." said Anna as she rubs her filled belly with pride.
"Are you in this list too?" asked Edward.
"Yes I am - as you can see I am number twenty eight...by the way...may I know what are you guys looking for?"
"Nothing out of the ordinary...do you have anyone staying with you?" queried Natalia anxiously.
"Yeah my husband...he is out hunting in the woods for foxies but he will be back by tonight."
"Ok...you tell your husband to get back as soon as possible...and make sure you keep your home locked at all times do you understand me?" insisted Edward.
"Yeah sure I can do that - DETECTIVE." Anna turned away and directs a question at Natalia "Is this something to do with the murders recently?"
"I am afraid so...just stay safe and call the Sheriff if you notice anything unusual." Edward and Natalia walks over to their car with the nurse still staring at them nervously from the main entrance.
"I guess she's gonna freak out soon." said Natalia.
"I think we will be the freak out ones...how the hell are we going to check on all thirty households at the same time...we only got a number of deputies in this town." said Edward worryingly.
"Time to call the national guard?" asked Natalia jokingly.
"That's not funny Natalia..." Edward grabs his cellphone from his worn out trench coat, took a couple of pictures on the list and forwards it to the Sheriff via SMS that reads. "Thirty preggers on the list, get your deputies to check on their status now - HURRY"
