Bobby pins, also known as hair pins, will be familiar to those of you who know someone with long hair. These cryptids, while mysterious, are not particularly elusive and can be found in most American households.
A bobby pin is generally made of metal and sometimes covered with or made of plastic. Common bobby pins are known to reproduce rapidly, through unknown means. Their relative, the fancy bobby pin, rarely reproduces. It is commonly known that once a home has a colony of common bobby pins, the house will never be without a bobby pin.
These cryptids can often be found outside of their native habitats, usually the bedroom or the bathroom. They generally spread to the moldings, under the couch, all the little forgotten places in the house. Although they can also often be found in workrooms and kitchens, as they will spread to any flat surface. While they do reproduce rapidly, most bobby pins either do not live to maturity or leave their home for locations with less competition.
