Heart jumped up.
"How!" Heart exclaimed as he panicked a little internally. 'What kinda fate was this that he couldn't avoid this guy no matter what he did. Did the cosmos hate him, why did he seem to be attached?'
"You mean I can't join you guys?" Saint chuckled then sat down. "I have unlimited resources. Of course, I can find what classes you are in or where you like to eat lunch. I know everything about you…"
Tone and High stared at him oddly.
"You're my employee, of course, I have to know."
High and Tone came to the same conclusion at the same time.
"This is demon lord!" They exclaimed in unison.
Heart ignored them and leaned in "Everything?" He asked, his eyebrows creasing with worry.
Saint chuckled and leaned in as well. "Is there something I am not supposed to find out? I did say that I didn't like anything but honesty on resumes." He hissed.
His look was one filled with poison. He looked up at the other two who were staring at him intently and glared at them fiercely.
High and Tone smiled sheepishly.
"And they are?" Saint asked, slowly. Clearly drawing his own conclusions.
"Ah, that is High, that's Tone they are my best friends since high school."
"Pleasure meeting you, I'm Heart's boss." He scoffed and turned to the side, a clear glance down at Heart filled with judgment and danger dancing there.
"Demon Lord." He said sarcastically. Then he raised an eyebrow and gave them both a look that chilled to the bone.
As if daring them to ever think that name ever again, let alone say it aloud, because he would know. He leaned back the aura of a king who had just plundered a whole country before sitting down to his spoils.
"Wait, I thought you knew everything about me. How do you not know who they are?" Heart asked confused.
"I did. I just wanted to hear you say it." He responded, his mouth twitching sardonically. Heart watched as his shirt pulled back a little and exposed his warm, pinky, brown collarbone that glistened in the light.
Heart gulped nervously, Saint crossed his legs delicately, unintentionally sucking the focus in on him again.
Then he leaned back forward. Close enough that if he wanted, he could stick out his tongue and lick Heart's nose.
"Don't you want to know why I am here?" He purred.
Heart froze, then quickly looked Saint up and down his suit looked close to theirs.
'Maybe, just a bit more expensive?'
"Ummm... You go to school here?" Heart leaned back away from him trying to puzzle out just what he was doing here.
Saint smirked and licked his bottom of his lip eagerly, watching Heart squirm at the idea.
"What if I did?" He said very carefully.
"How, how, I thought you were… older than me." He struggled to get his words out through his flustered mess of a brain.
"I... Could... Go... Here." He said, pulling each word out of himself slowly.
Heart gulped anxiously, his fear written across his face.
"If I hadn't already graduated with top honors. Seriously, how observant are you? The plaques are on the wall in my office. You've been in there lots, haven't you been paying attention? Or did something in there, have you distracted?" He teased Heart, who blushed thoroughly in response.
"Why do you think I'm here?" He sucked in a breath, staring down at Hearts lips, Heart chewed on them nervously.
"I don't know," Heart said slowly.
"I knew you wouldn't have a clue, and I will be here all day if I wait for you to figure it out." Saint stated lightly.
Heart pouted at the insult.
"I have a business trip and I am taking you with me, I was going to call to tell you then I realized I was already close enough to your school to just come pick you up myself. Go grab all your stuff."
"But I thought Kit always goes on those with you?" Heart said.
"Kit is busy today. He has a concert to go to that he can't afford to miss." Saint said.
"What if I say no to going?" Heart said stubbornly.
Saint folded his hands slowly.
"I'll pay you double."
"Pffft." Heart exclaimed naturally, but sucked in his lips when Saint's eyes twitched dangerously with seething annoyance.
"Your whole salary for the year, and I'll give it to you as a bonus right now." Saint said icily.
He pulled his phone out of his pocket and tapped a few times.
Hearts phone pinged and he lifted it up to check it. His eyes bulged in shock.
"What, what, what?" High and Tone came close behind Heart and stuck their noses in to peek.
"Oi, I thought you said he was an asshole! Sixty thousand dollars as a bonus, you're rich!" High said excitedly.
Tone nodded. "I'll go if he doesn't," High stated.
Heart looked down, sniffled, then grimaced. With everything within him, he fought his own desire, tapped the phone screen, then looked back up at Saint.
Tone sucked in a breath and High gasped, then turned away to hide his horror and his smile.
Saint's phone blinged but he didn't even look at it.
"You're declining the money," He said icily.
"It's not about the money." Heart said.
Saint scoffed under his breath.
"If it isn't money, it's the other thing, then right?"
Heart looked at him curiously.
"Equals, we can be equals on this trip. I will still need you to do your job as my assistant, when necessary…" He sucked in a breath, and uncrossed his legs, then stood.
"The rest of the time, we are just two people, no titles, no boss, no servant." He cleared his throat and shoved a hand in his pocket, nonchalantly.
"As in, you are not my superior anymore? While we are there,…?" Heart said slowly grinning.
He leaned over the tabletop, his tall, slender frame bearing down on Heart imposingly.
He reached out and slowly ran his hand across Hearts tie, straightening it. Heart stared into his eyes, gulping, as this intense fire rushed over him and he couldn't help but stare deeply into Saint's pretty eyes because of their close proximity.
"That's right… just you and me… equals. Whatever you want."
Heart reached out towards Saint's chest, something he would never have done before, never even thought about doing.
Electricity flowed from his fingertips through his body and straight to his heart, making his hands weak and useless.
'Why? Why is it like this every time I see you, every time I am near you, how do I turn into some psycho who can't function without losing his mind around you? Why does my breath disappear, my thoughts jumble, my body grows weak…'
He pushed with all his might, Saint let him, moving back with the light amount of force he exuded. Heart let out a breath of relief the moment the warm, fresh air blew into his face, from the removal of Saint's presence.
Saint smiled, catching Hearts hand before it dropped.
"As soon as we are back, nothing is different."
High and Tone looked eagerly at Heart, Heart leaned back and sighed.
"Fine, deal." Heart said.
Saint smiled evilly. "Oh yeah, there is that one thing… I am still a year and a half older than you. You still have to be respectful to your elders, yeah." Saint said deviously.
"A year?" Heart paused, his voice caught in his throat, looking dazed.
Saint was one of those beautiful men who you could never really tell their age. Some days he looked nineteen, while others he looked twenty-five.
"I am your senior and you are still my bratty little junior. Or did you forget I am older than you? At work, you even talk to me as if I am your wise, all knowing, respected boss. Or is your memory really so bad that you forgot that too?"
Heart jumped up. "I only treated you that way because I thought you were much older than me! I didn't know you... We were only a year apart!"
Saint smirked and raised his eyebrow. "A year and a half. You never asked, and I am not obligated to tell."
"Besides work is work. Just be the same on the trip as you are at work. I like how you are with me all the time. We don't have to change anything." He chuckled softly as Hearts face flushed fully, thinking about all the compromising positions he had been in with Saint's office and his commands.
High and Tone tried to stifle chuckles from behind Heart. Heart blushed harder, the red spreading to behind his ears and down through his neck.
"Oh, look, tomatoes are in season." Saint sucked in a breath, but turned to walk away.
Heart stood up, grabbed his stuff, and shoved it in his bag. "Fine, I'll go get my stupid stuff." Then he stomped off like a small child.
