It been a surreal experience this last week. The world is going mad, stock piling continues and now the elderly and disabled are having trouble with buying supplies. We have dinner with my mother-in-law and she’s still out having lunches with her friends, visiting places and overall isn’t concerned about the virus. It’s only like a flu she tells us. The number of looks passed between myself, hubby and his sister numbered in the dozens I’m sure. We discuss the virus and we leave concerned mum doesn’t understand.
When hubby and I get home he sends a message to his family requesting another dinner with the four of us to talk about a plan should any of us get the virus. Mum thinks we are overreacting but likes the idea of another dinner at her place and agrees.
Hubby and I have a long talk about our own plan. What do we do if one of us gets sick, who is the designated carer and who is responsible for managing the household? Who are our emergency contacts? What are our preexisting conditions should we need to get to the hospital and can’t relay this information to the medical staff? Write everything down. Let everyone in the house know about this.
I’m tired and go to bed late. After my three weeks of early nights in Japan, I’ve stopped having those since I got home and I really miss Japan now and part of me wishes I was still there.
