-Chapter two
I am such an Idiot. I took the dagger off the paper and put it next to me, of course the wind would blow it away. I slapped my face in frustration then got to my feet and grabbed the dagger quickly. I started forward to the west where the paper went. The tree I climbed was one of the small trees which I climbed fastly and jumped up to the top of a taller tree saving time.
The dagger is swinging around cutting through the tree branches and vines that were in the way while I was looking for the sheet. I looked at some mountains coming in view around southwest and spotted it.
I changed course and increased my speed. The paper was flapping up and down the stop like it was hitting a wall. I was getting close and the wind was slowing down. I sped up even more. In no time I reached it went to grab it and it flew up.
I looked up to find it surrounded in a purple energy and a short wizard. The thing with wizards is they are usually more powerful than anyone because everyone is born with some sort of quirk of power. Wizards are born with power or quirk but the master other quirks through training,
This wizard had a clothed bell on his head covered with dark blue cloth which signaled it was from Bellsing academy in the Bellsing kingdom. The kingdom was founded not too long ago about 30 years about seven years before I was born. Even though it is not the oldest it is one of the strongest and wealthiest.
He also had a rob that was the same dark blue as the bell. on with puffy white cotton on the end. He was holding a golden staff that was stick shaped. The staff at the top was a gold cage with four bars each facing a different direction. In the middle was a shining rock shape ruby the shining with a two ring chain coming from the top holding it up.
His face was like a sphere with a cheek and his eyes were ovals the longer side up.
I looked around the robe to find a golden crest of the royal family of the Bellsing family. I jumped a little at the realization that the founder and king of Bellsung, Sir Bellsing, himself.
"What a surprising event this. A king is unguarded in front of me. I'm honored." I said regretting it. That sounded what a sly person would say and it might come off rude but it was just me panicking.
"You're lucky I caught this, our you would lose some money even if you did kill this bear. " Bellsung said, giving me a glare. "Thank you your majesty, and sorry for troubling you." I replied smiling. “No problem.” This time he was smiling like I was harmless and put me in the weak category after he was analyzing me.
This got on my nerves so I grabbed the paper, jumped off the tree and showed off a little by cutting fourteen trees with a single swing of my knife muttering they were annoying still smiling but it probably looked forced.
“Wait!” The king blurted out glaring down at me. “Why don’t you come to my kingdom and enter the magic academy, for free...” He said no longer glaring at me. What an odd request to ask me, but this a good thing for me. I could get more powerful and It would increase the chance of not dying from hunger and it could save me from money problems.
But something was wrong there had to be a catch. A king would not give a lowly civilian something like this unless he wanted something and I barely know anything about magic except the basic quirks I was born with so that proves my point.
I turned around and stared up at him, my face showing no emotion, showing him that what I’m going to say is serious. “What do you want from me? I’m just a lowly civilian who struggles with money and I barely know anything about magic except for the basics?” I asked. “I’m interested in you no regular civilian could jump down from a tree that's about fifty feet high and land perfectly with no broken bones or injuries, then go cut down a bunch of trees with a strike of one small dagger around six inches and perfectly fine with teaching you the basics.” he replied.
I looked at where I landed from the tree with only my leather boots finding a small crater. I probably looked surprised but I quickly changed my expression to a serious one then looked up at him. “What's your name young traveler?” he asked.
“Koe, I’ll join but to teach me the regular stuff and I don’t want any funny business but first let me sleep then get my money. We'll meet up here at this exact spot.
