Finally everyone was washed and dressed for winter. However it was still very hot in Gaea. The four had packed their own clothes in their small backpacks.
“You might want to consider getting bigger backpacks, when on Dera, you will move around a lot.”
“We won’t get a house like you two?” Sarah asked frightened.
“Maybe you will!” Calla replied. “But you will still move around a lot.”
Calla and Milos had extended their hands, the four humans climbed on them.
“It is time then.” Calla stated and they walked out of the house. Sarah was almost sad to leave her doll bed and the giant house. She was never one for travel. She liked comfort and stability. She had only lived a short life, but she had always enjoyed being at her hometown, with her family and friends nearby. She sighed and relaxed in Milos’ hand. The journey took about an hour on a subway train, they had all chatted a bit awkwardly. Thomas kept on trying to find out more from the giants, but they both couldn’t explain much more than they already had. Milos had told him it’d be better to get more information from the humans on Dera that are awaiting them. So Thomas had to accept and he held his mouth shut for the remainder of the journey. The giants got up and departed the underground shuttle and got into a large bus. This time it only took 10 minutes before the giants got back up and left the bus. They arrived at what almost looked like an airport. It might even be an airport also. However it looked odd. The group of four only now started to wonder how they would get onto Dera. The two giants had talked about it as if it was like taking a train to the next town. Sarah remembered that when she was still alive, there were space shuttles going between planets. However that was far from the simple transfer with trains. The giants carried the four humans inside and continued to walk through the huge building. Then finally they stopped and brought their hands to the ground. Where the four stepped off confused. They were standing in front of a help desk their size. A woman about the same size as Thomas, maybe even slightly taller, stood awkwardly behind the, for her, small desk. Thomas felt uneasy with the tall woman. Milos had crouched and started to speak to the woman at the desk in a dialect they hadn’t heard before. The large woman smiled and nodded. She then continued to do some work on her computer. A computer that looked nothing like the computers they had ever seen before. After a little while the woman tapped on the screen and four small transparent “screens” hoovered in front of the four confused humans.
“Please fill in your details.” She asked politely in an accent also unknown to them. Milos looked at the screens and helped them through it. He gave them an address to fill in. The woman looked at them for a second, but then continued her business. Once filled in the screens disappeared as suddenly as they had appeared. The woman smiled and thanked them while she continued to work on her strange computer. She then again tapped her screen and another four transparent “screens” hoovered in front of them.
“Here are your Planetarial tickets.” The woman started. “ Please be careful not to lose them. You can keep them in your pockets or wallets, whatever you prefer.”
They tucked away the strange tickets and Milos gave the woman the fee. They walked a little further away from the desk.
“We can travel without any identification?” Dylan asked worriedly. Calla shook her head.
“Officially you can’t, but Milos and I have special authorities. You will receive all your necessities once you’re on Dera.”
“Special authorities?”
“You can sort of see it as the FBI? Well we aren’t FBI… alright so let’s say we are all part of an organisation, I mean we are! However the people here don’t understand where we are really from, but…” Calla started rambling. Thomas stopped her.
“I think I get it. The higher ups planted a made shift organisation with authorities similar to FBI, which gives us free access to numerous facilities and services.”
Calla blinked while she took those words and then grinned from ear to ear.
“Yes!”
