I just woke up in... Well I woke up in somebody else’s bed. I have no idea who’s... and I’m a little concerned. I can smell brewing coffee seeping through the cracks in the door, and suddenly it opens, and I see a girl come in with two mugs. My heart speeds up and I grab the covers in my hands, pulling them up to my chest.
What the hell?? That’s a girl!
She laughs, handing me a cup of hot coffee. “Don’t get the wrong idea. I found you passed out on a chair in the bar around midnight... your friends were leaving, and when they couldn’t wake you up they just went. I know it’s a little strange to bring you here, but they wouldn’t tell me your address... obviously”
I take the coffee, just now noticing the rhythmic pounding in my head.
I hesitantly take a sip, and I have to admit it helps a bit.
“So uh... what’s your name?” I ask quietly
She sits down next to me, leaning against the headboard and drinks as well, “I’m June. And you are?”
I look over at her “I’m Karma”
June laughs a bit, before meeting my eyes. “And let me guess, you’re like seventeen?”
I nod slowly.
“So how did you get into the bar?”
I look away, embarrassed. “With a Uh... fake ID.....”
She shakes her head disapprovingly and I can’t help but to laugh
“Well you don’t look much older!” I say, snickering
She smiles back. “Yeah yeah, I got in there with a fake ID too”
I set my hand on the bed, accidentally setting it on top of hers, and I quickly pull back.
“S-Sorry I—“ I start, but she interrupts me
“You’re fine” she laughs a bit “can you tell me about your friends?”
My face goes a little dark, and for the next ten minutes we exchange friend stories.
“Yeah... I’m thinking about not being friends with them... but... then I won’t have anybody”
She reaches over and takes my hand in hers, squeezing a bit, and finishes off her coffee, “well then me and my friends will be your new friends!”
I smile a bit.
Perhaps this was fate...
