They put on a movie to watch while they ate dinner and since Alto and Reigne didn’t know any, they told Leo to put on his favourite. Looking somewhat embarrassed, he said, “I’ll put on one of my favourites, I think you’d like it, Alto,” He then put on High School Musical.
And said god did enjoy it. So did Reigne, actually. They ended up watching the next two movies in the series and by the time they ended, it was nearly midnight. Leo yawned and said, “I’m tired, we should go to bed,”
They were the only people up in the house since Leo’s mum went to bed at nine because she had an early shift and was tired from a long day of work.
“Yeah, being that cute must be tiring,” Alto winked at Leo who blushed furiously and glared at the god. Said boy then backed down under Leo’s fiery scowl.
Reigne rolled her eyes but a smile was on her face. “Yeah, we should.” She yawned as she stood up from where she sat on the couch and stretched. “Goodnight,” Reigne waved as she left and walked up the stairs to the guest bedroom.
“I’m not tired,” groaned Alto as he rolled over from his spot on the floor to look at Leo who sat next to him.
Said boy raised an eyebrow. “Really?” Alto nodded, resting his head in the palm of his hand but he was holding back a yawn. “Well, I am. Come on, let’s go to my room,” Leo said as he stood up and switched their TV off.
Alto followed in step as they walked to Leo’s room that they now shared. He then threw himself onto the bottom bunk earning a laugh and a “not tired, huh?” from Leo as he climbed onto the top bunk.
There was a moment of silence while Leo fiddled on his phone but just before he put his earbuds in to listen to some music, Alto spoke.
“I’m bored. Can we play a game?”
Leo smiled as he looked up at the white ceiling of his room. “Sure. What game?”
Another moment of silence. “I don’t know. Sorry,”
“It’s fine. How about twenty questions?”
“How do you play that?” asked Alto, tracing his hand across the bottom of the top bunk.
The top bunk creaked as Leo rolled onto his side. “Well, we take turns asking each other questions, twenty each.”
“Ooo! That sounds fun. I’ll start. What’s your favourite colour?” Alto said.
“Green, I guess. What’s yours?” replied Leo.
Alto perked up. He liked talking, especially about the things he likes. “Pink! But like the shade that’s close to red or orange, coral-like? That! It’s so pretty,”
Leo laughed. “Like your hoodie?”
“Oh, yeah! That colour!” Alto giggled. “What’s your favourite animal?”
Pulling his knees up to his chest as he sat up, Leo blinked as he thought. “I don’t know. Some kind of bird? They’re really pretty and sometimes I wish I was one, just to be able to fly free,” he said then flushed pink. “Sorry- I just- I’m sorry,”
“Why are you apologising? That’s really cool and poetic,” Alto responded. “Your turn to ask,”
Leo smiled. “Right. If you could live anywhere, where would you?”
“Oh, good question! I guess… Paris. What else can I say except it’s the city of love?” Alto chuckled softly. “How about you?”
“A cottage.” Leo answered immediately. “In the woods by a river or a lake with flowers and animals. I guess, it’s like something out of a fairytale ,”
“I’ll be your prince charming then,” said Alto.
“Fair. Okay, similar to the last question, if you could rule anywhere in the world, where?”
Alto giggled uncontrollably before managing to somewhat contain himself. “You know what? Out of anywhere in the whole world? I’m gonna go for it and say the whole world.”
Leo burst out laughing. “I will come down there and wack you!”
They continued joking back and forth while asking questions, both growing tired. Eventually, Alto slipped off into a slumber while they were nearing the end of the game. With a smile still spread across his face, Leo put his earbuds in and hit play on his music, closing his eyes as music flowed into his ears as he too found himself drifting off to sleep.
