Greetings from my home where I'm simmering in anger because my boyfriend could have burnt the house down to leaving a sandwich grill on for 3 hours ;w; Heeeeeelp.

They should really design automatic shutoff mechanisms on those things. There is no conceivable reason a sandwich grill should run more than 20 to 30 minutes.
