The savage roar of the thunders felt mischievous; as Yves grin when he looked at the man, as he was lifting him up in the air and then throwing him up back in the shallow water with force. The man let few gasps as his eyes were praying for mercy. My body felt emptied of any power, as I could only hear my heartbeat accelerating with each gasp of his.
Ethan stared at me; scared seeing Yves pulling up the fresh from him, while he was still fully awake, eating as an animal.
"Stop it!" I yelled; but not a single response, the creature took over his senses. His all being was driven now for the fresh blood that was mixing with his saliva. A thunder made me flinched, while the lighting created a hue of color. Like it was thrown on a canvas, splattering it into a dark red.
"He will tell!" I heard his voice as he turned his head toward me. "Why wouldn't I have a bit of feast as well?" Yves grins while walked toward him and grabbing him from his neck. The man barely was breathing while in the distance the rustling of the leaves made me more aware than never. They were more coming in our way. The smell of flesh was sweet as a jar of honey, and the blood was the nectar that would ooze out my chin, licking and sticky.
Tonight; if we wouldn't move away, carnage might take place. As I would lose my last drop of humanity I hold, in a cage away from "her" to reach.
"Come, Natty!" His voice drills holes in my mind, piercing it painfully, through the emptiness of his tone. "Why you're not coming, you do not want?" I shook my head no, trying to disperse his crying voice.
"Do you plan eating all?" I ask as I biting my cheek as Oliver voice became louder and Yves felt like all his body was shrouded by a thick black pall of malignancy. His eyes were vivid and fiery ready to rip apart the guy that he was holding with one hand from his neck. Yves like a suction cup he run his tongue over his face, pouring his venom across his face, and like an acid started to melt his flesh. The guy was screaming in pain as Yves started to suck him off , holding him stable, while his body paralyzed. With one move his long and sharp nails, torn his head off his body, finishing the play, without replying to my question.
"If is necessary, yes!" He replied in the end He replied back by licking his nails and retracting them back.
"It is enough!" I tell him as I walk toward him and grip Yves from his throat, inserting slightly my nails into his skin. Fading strands of blood ooze down, but were washed fast by the pouring rain. You're scaring Ethan and those people there, are our families. Mine might loath me; but I still care for some of them, I whisper to him, making a slight pause; averting my eyes from his deep gaze. His beautiful inky eyes reverted back like the beauty of the night that surrounded us. I could feel his breath hitching and his warm breath on my cheek, making for a second my heart to throb.
"You're too soft!" He tells me as he stick his tongue to me, telling me all is okay, but I could sense his thoughts were mixed. He was lying to me.
Perhaps you're right, but right now; I don't have time to play around I say. As I let him go and turn to watch the other side of the river. Beneath, in a shallow cave, Oliver was waiting for us. I could had sense him, he was near. Better the acid will do the job fast, I continue, seeing Ethan staring at both of us with worry in his eyes. I smiled holding my hand toward him. He comes to me gripping it as we started to pass the whirling river.
"It will..." Yves says to me opening his mouth to say something pervert. I glare at him pointing the kid that now he was being careful where steps. Yves hold his hands up, laughing.
"Animal..." I say, while he nods with a huge pride.
"We're all animals, Nathaniel. Us and them, we feed, shit and sleep." He continues trying to say something smart, making me sight.
As we walked deep in the forest, the darkness surrounded us. Only the pelting rain hitting the branches and the soil; was the single sound that gave me serenity. My feet felt like it sunk in the dump earth, pulling me inside, ready to bury me. Few bare branches let the sky peak into the glade, illuminating it like a flaming torch, creating a sullen moment.
In the bleakness, before our eyes a abandoned tunnel made it appearance. It looked like it was ready to crumble as the water was filling it. The plants and roots were coming through, the flickering light which came from the lightings, made it look like it was an eye of a demon.
A void; like our souls, while a feeble howl was pulling me inside. It was like a draft!
"After you." Yves tells me as pushing me ahead. A bad feeling; pass through me. I nodded, entering slowly as cold sweat took over my body, making me gulp. She might be here and I wasn't strong enough to fight her, but Oliver was calling me.
I lifted my head and a hole was above creating enough light, but as well flooding it fast. The walls were slowly crumbling, as the mud was washed by the water. It looks like a miniature muddy waterfall. Glancing back; I saw Ethan grazing the walls, creating a maze through with his fingers. He giggled softly while Yves pulled him near him, holding him with his hand from his shoulder.
The tunnel wasn't long, had no other exist than the one we came. But before us, a hole was made. It was something like a stub; covered in skin that barely covered the bones and flesh was out. Before us, It was like a beast was imprisoned in a grotesque cage of bones and skin, which was melting from the flesh. Watching him, I felt tormented by the guilt and jilt. He was like a wild animal that was trying to break away. His hollow eyes was succumbing everything in darkness.
"Fucking hell!" Yves shouts, but my eyes remain on him, mesmerized. "He is not even full reconstructed, he is a newborn barely." I hear his jaw clench while Ethan was fidgeting watching at the eerie view ahead of him, biting his lower lip.
"Yes, little one, you were similar." I tell him, as I touched his forehead with my hand.
The pit he was, was slowly covered in a yellowish/reddish slime which resembled a placenta, and he was in a fetal position, head toward us. He was placed in some kind of cocoon, but seemed it started to decay fast, similar to a furry spider abdomen. I gulped, her presence was vivid in my mind, her body was rotting, but she was still alive in me.
Oliver turn his naked neck toward Yves, like trying to reach us and see us. But the two gaping holes from which worms were swirling into, alongside dry blood, made my stomach to turn around. His mouth was sewed with veins and lianes, and his body was filled with mud and washed in a pool of blood, his stomach and abdomen was trans lucid, showing his inside and no arms beside the stub which resembled a chopped log.
The only sound he was making; was like a crying dog. The whimpering became louder as he felt us near, trying to open his mouth, ripping the veins. Blood ooze while the creature before my eyes trying to detached from the bond that was keeping him hostage, but unable to hold on to something. His flesh was tearing apart, letting out a wretched smell, of rot eggs.
Ethan turns around nearly to throw up, as he remains still, gasping for air.
"Natty! Come back for me." His voice echoed in my head. I saw him dying before me; he couldn't be alive back then!
With the corner of my eye I turn to see Yves frown, looking toward the exit, making me turn as well gasping alongside Ethan. He was there watching us. His face was pale, his hand gripping from the flashlight which now felt on Olives, making his eyes widen.
In a split of a second, Yves eyes turned and his nails grew, assaulting him. A deep yell of pain echoed through the forest, as the darkness felt again upon us. Yves with one arm; throws the man at my feet. Yves nails went through his skin and flesh carving deep, amaze on his chest and side.
My knees started to get feeble as I put my hands to my mouth to not shout in despair. His eyes met mine, feeling the sting in my shoulder, making me fall near him. We were now face to face. The monster and the man I loved and fear, my brother.
Now he had seen my real face.
"What are you?" He could only say, trying to breathe, as the pain was erupting through his entire body, like fire took over, burning his insides, while Yves send him in an abyss of pain with one kick. His head felt backway hitting Oliver's shoulder, as he was now crawling back from the pit, to feed.
My all body trashed seeing how Oliver mouth splits across his each side of his ghostly cheeks, and his fangs appeared, ready to tear my brother.
"Stop!" I yelled as I pulled a semi lucid Emilian in my arms and jumping few steps back, protecting him to not be devoured, but the sweet smell of his blood made me , bite him and carve his entire body, piece by piece, until the pain from my mouth was extinguished. My teeth were coming out, as I was holding back the beast that was awakening, to feed.
We all were animals, others predators, others the pray, but my brother won't be nobody's prey. We been pushed in the darkness, we died and reborn as monsters, yet I fight keep my humanity. I'm not a brainless animal.
"Nat, he will kill us all..." Yves shouts at me kicking the wall which is nearly to crumple over us.
"Yves, he is my brother. I will chain him as a dog if he survives your wounds, but I won't kill him..." Sharply I tell him as I stand up, holding him in my arms. His eyes roll in the back of his head, as his head falls on my shoulder becoming limp...
Yves pulls out Oliver, which now was wailing in pain, a fragile doll of porcelain, that he was, filled with worms, but I could feel something more sinister than this. Something sinister was lurking in the shadow. From that wood, not only Oliver was reborn...
It was near us, as the moon light glimpsed over us, my all body felt in a blaze.
