(Peta's point of view)
I don't know how long I've been walking/running but it's been a long time. It got dark about three hours ago. The woods have started to thin out so that means I'm getting close to something. Hopefully a road. After another hour of tripping and stumbling around in the dark my shoes finally touched the pavement of a road. There are no words to describe how happy I am right now. Both directions the road went looked exactly the same. So being left handed I just started walking left along the road. It had to go somewhere eventually or I could flag down a car………. So this is what I've been doing all night. Repeating “I'm left handed so I go left.” and jumping at every noise I heard.
About four hours later the sun finally started to rise. I would have stopped to admire the pink and purple sunrise but and expensive looking sports car drove around a curve in the road. I ran to the middle of the road and waved my arms around to get the drivers attention. The only thought my brain could produce at this moment was “I'm telling the police everything and everyone involved is going to prison and i'm going to sit in a cafe evil laughing with an espresso while I watch them go to prison.” The black sports car slowed down and stopped next to me. The tinted window rolled down to reveal a sharp looking middle-aged man in a business suit. He looked at me concerned, “Are you alright? Get in I'll drive you to the hospital.”
I don't know what was wrong but something about him was just……………… off? He looked genuinely concerned but something was just simply wrong with him. He looked oddly familiar but this was the only sign of any other human I've seen in hours so I nodded, “A ride to the nearest police station would be great.” I got settled into the back seat as he started driving again. He was driving back the way I had been walking almost all night so it made me feel like I was losing any progress I made. But considering I was way better off than I was a few minutes ago I ignored the part of my brain that wanted me to jump out of the car and continuing to walk left. After a minute of driving he seemed to remember something and pulled a bottle of water out of the glove box, “Here, you need it. You walked a long way.”
I thanked him and took it. I unscrewed to lid and down about half of the bottle. He watched me in the rear view mirror which was slightly creepy but I ignored it. I recapped the bottle and handed it back to him. After a few minutes of him glancing at me every few seconds I started to suddenly get really tired…… Wait. This isn't normal…… The water! He drugged me!
I was moving as soon as my brain figured it out. I pulled on both of the door handles but they were both locked. There was no way to unlock either door so I started kicking the windows. “Let me out! You son of a bitch!” He answered with a sigh, “Don't bother kid. All the other doors have to be opened from the outside and those windows are bulletproof. Your not getting out.”
My body was starting to stop responding to my orders. The only thing I could do was lay in the backseat and try to stay awake. He pulled a burner phone out of the glove box and called someone. “Finch, I found your pet walking along the road fourteen miles from where she should be……… She’s fine. I've got her drugged in the backseat of my car……… No, i'm not bringing her back. You let her escape. If you can't train her I will. I'm going to train her myself so you can have an example of what you should have done. Once i'm ready we can go get you a new pet.” I could hear very loud hysterical screaming coming through the phone, “Don't you dare harm her! Bring her back! You son of a bitch! Ill kill you!” Finch sounds……. scared….. Is she ok? I hope she’s ok. And with that thought floating around in my head I was unconscious.
