Chapter Sixteen
It felt like we stood in the water forever. Adrian just held me and stayed silent which is what I needed right now. I was trying to wrap my head around everything that just happened.
I looked up at Adrian just to see his gorgeous face but he was staring at me. His eyes stared right into mine with an intensity that both made me feel on edge and feel happy at the same time.
"A-Adrian? Are you ready to get out?" I asked softly. My skin was starting to get wrinkly and uncomfortable. I was also starting to get really hungry.
"Yeah, come on." He said and grabbed my hand. I intertwined our fingers which in turn sent a surprising shock up my arm. I snuggled closer to him wanting his warmth to wrap around me.
I learned early on that as a werewolf I wasn't as warm as the others. My temperature was less than an average humans and that's saying a lot. On average a fully matured werewolf's core temperature is around 110-115 degrees Fahrenheit. Mine however was around 85 degrees Fahrenheit on a good day.
The house felt cold once we stepped out of the water and I curled up even closer to him. He saw me shiver and looked at me with concerned eyes.
"I'm fine. I'm used to being cold, its just you're so warm." I said.
"You're freezing. Your skin is ice cold! You need to see the pack doctor!" Adrian said pulling a big towel around me as he rushed to my room.
"Its normal...for me. I've always been this cold. My parent's had a bunch of doctors from all different countries try to find out what's wrong with me, even though I kept telling them it was just who I was but they refused to listen." I said my breath hitching as I thought of them. I missed them so much.
"Okay then lets go to my room and get you some dry clothes at least. I don't want you catching a cold." He said opening his bedroom door. His scent hit my nose right away. I took in a deep breath, which instantly calmed me down.
"Once we change can we watch some TV? I haven't watched anything since um...everything." I said hesitating on the words that were trying to spill out of my mouth.
"Of course, sweets." He said grabbing one of his shirts and handing it to me. My face warmed at the nickname he called me. When he saw my face he just chuckled lightheartedly.
"The bathrooms the door on the right, you can change in there." He said and I obediently followed his directions.
Once inside I tried to calm my heartbeat but it wouldn't listen to me.
You can get through this without messing up terribly, right?
