Kjartan/Eyolf and the witch, a 9-year apprenticeship that meant so much to him: giving up illegal and (self)destructive activities, learning a respectable profession and becoming a physician and mystic, feeling appreciated and knowing what it's like to have a family.
1 & 2. Meeting the witch (older illustration, I hadn't decided on his hair length yet). 3. Being accepted as apprentice. 4. Her funeral.
