Noah:
I was already getting ready for school, I felt like leaving earlier today. After showering I put on my uniform and brushed my teeth, then tied my hair. A few days ago I finally found my glasses, but I realised that I probably needed new ones soon.
When I finished having breakfast, I made my way out, but before leaving I heard Amery calling out to me.
“Hey, wait up!” She said while catching up to me.
“What is it?”
“Can we walk to school together? I wanna talk to you about something.”
“Why not I guess, but why are you awake so early in the morning?”
“I don’t know, I feel like getting to school earlier today.” She answered while walking outside the house with me.
I locked the front door and then Amery and I started walking. Her school is not far ahead from mine, but she normally goes there after me with her skateboard. Before I got too distracted, Amery started talking again.
“So um, what do you do when your friend is getting bullied and you don’t know how to help them?”
“Is that what is happening?”
“Yeah..”
“And why is that?”
“Well, people don’t like her because she’s lesbian. Everybody says that she’s a freak.” She told me.
“Do you think the same?” I asked her, even though I knew the answer. Amery is open-minded, if she accepted me, then she’ll probably accept someone else with a different sexuality.
“W-what? Of course not. She’s one of my closest friends and I have no problem with her sexuality!”
“That is good then. But just give her support, if she is getting picked on then what will help is friendship. Stand up for her and chase those immature ones away, tell her to ignore their opinions.
“I think that’ll work, thanks Noah. Honestly, I don’t know what the hell I’d do without you.”
“Probably not much.” I looked at her and smiled a bit.
About five minutes later, we got to my school. Before I went inside the gates, Amery came in for a tight hug and then walked away happily, I think I even saw her skip a bit. Maybe this was the thing that was bothering her last week.
It seems that our walk was longer than I thought, it was almost 07:40. When I got inside, I made my way to my locker and took out the things I needed, While heading to English, I heard someone saying “sorry” continuously behind me, then they ran right past me. It looked like he was rushing to get to one of his classes. He didn’t look very productive, even though I only saw a glimpse of him. His hair was wavy, but extremely messy. The same with his uniform, his shirt wasn’t even tucked in. It irritated me, but I just ignored it and continued to walk to class.
At the end of the day, I decided to go behind the school to finish reading my book. I had nothing to do at home so I thought reading at school would be more relaxing, I was surrounded by nature so it would help me concentrate more. About fifteen minutes later, I managed to finish it. It surprisingly had a good ending, turns out that the girl passed away while trying to get to her mother’s grave. But the one who was in love with her was speaking at the end. It was honestly a beautiful book, even though the end was quite sad. This is probably going to be one of my favourites now.
I stayed seated for a bit, and looked at the environment around me. I find it aesthetically pleasing, I then got up and dusted myself off. As I was about to walk away, I saw a flower on the ground. A small hydrangea, I haven’t seen one in some time so I was surprised. I’ve already studied them and know the information I need to know, I still decided to pick it up.
Just as I did that, I heard a twig snap behind me. Since it was quiet that was one of the only noises that I heard. As I turned in the direction that it was coming, I saw someone. The first thing that I noticed was his hair, it was the same messy and wavy hair that I saw this morning. But then I looked at his face, the face that I knew I wouldn’t be able to see.
I just stared in shock. I was able to see his face. How is this even possible?
