A distant thunder made me open my eyes. It was like a flump, but enough to make me awake as the remnants of a dream was still floating deep in my mind, as my eyelids felt heavy, pulling me back on the other realm, where my life for an instant was still normal.
A laugh full of life pulled me out from my daydreaming as I was watching the forest ahead of me. The vibrant colors started to fade as the sunset was sinking the day into darkness. The sky was captured by a web of colors, and all looked serene.
The camp was full of joy. A young boy smiled innocent at me as his pale complexion, made him stand out the most, as his color of his hair resembling the naphtha. He was like a specter in the dim light of the forest.
The warm late summer breeze caressed my skin but something felt odd. Everything was repeating as a loop, while the old kids were carrying twigs for the bonfire and singing a melodious song, all was starting to fade, becoming still.
My breath hitched, my shoulder started to hurt, as something was drilling a hole in it, screams and a rain of blood. In front of me Oliver, he was crawling up to me, as his guts were letting a trail behind him, growling at me as the pain became unbearable.
"Why you left me behind..." A whisper echoes through the forest. "I'm so alone." Hearing this desolating voice my knees buckled down, falling to the ground, gasping for air. The earth was moving under me, filled with of black spiders, that started to crawl on me, devouring me, and sealing my mouth...
"Nathaniel!" I heard a voice afar pulling me back from my nightmare as my entire body faltered and bathed in sweat. Before me, Yves's eyes flashed a luridly emotion as the air became baleful. It was hard to breath as he lean toward me and touched my forehead with his lips. A memory flashed and my eyes widen. He did it.
"Accept or you'll die!" Echoed vibrantly as his tone didn't betrayed any emotion, he had a stern aura and nonchalantly. I frown as I saw what he has done with the child. I wanted this for that child to forget the horrors, but was the best thing for him? Maybe I was wrong but now was to late...
"Stop frowning, you will get wrinkles..." Yves amused said as he turned with the face toward the ceiling and put his hand behind his head.
"Hmm, it was painful?" I ask him without paying attention to his remark.
He started to hum a song. I recalled the melody,. It was a song I last heard at the camp before this nightmare to start. "Do not know, I can't feel anyone pain or emotions like you Nat." In an end he said as he yawned and stretched." He is in our "feeding" room.
Hearing this my heart started to beat rapidly as the voice from my head was silent, for once in fourteen years. "This makes you go silent?" I said more to, myself while Yves chuckled.
"I can whisper few sweet words if you want?" He said amused knowing well what he meant, sexually jokes.
I glared at him as I was standing up from the bed. Bilko jumped in my lap and started to purr. His eyes were the single thing that gave color to the room, piercing its darkness. "I want to see him."
"Now?" Yves surprised said like he expected to go when nothing will be from him. "You might not what you will see..." He traild off knowing well what Yves done to him.
He licked his lips which now had a dark color, as his tongue slowly started to split, as his gaze had a blithe feeling. He was proud of his work. He winked at me making me shake my head, as I stood up, making him a sign to come after me.
The moment I approached in front of the iron door my heart skipped a bit and a lament took over my mind, making me grimacing. It was like a sharp pain and my shoulder throbbed, feverishly.
Inside, the smelled hit me hard, the decaying odor was strong, but not from the remains of skin and bones, but from the transuded cocoon of the corner from the room. It was shrouded in thin spider webs, like silk and inside, like an embryos, the creature Yves created was growing up, as it was sucking blood from his "father's" corpse.
"Tsk!" Yves suddenly says.
"What it is, he's beautiful..." I said mesmerized by the child rebirth.
"That thing there doesn't even look human..."I nodded, but I knew soon he would take a human shape...
