The smoke was slowly going up to the sky. The sight of the town I grew up in, burning, made me feel sick. I was on my knees, holding my little brother in my arms, watching how everything we had, was lost. An indescribeable sadness overcame me. Our parents dead, our house crashed. And nothing I could do about it.
It was nighttime, but the light from the flames made it seem like it was still middle in the day. While narrowing the grasp I had on my brother, I heard an explosion behind me. I turned around. About 400 meters away from me was another source of light. You couldn´t see exactly what it was, because the view was hindered by trees. Still, I knew what it was, it was Vivienne´s house going down in flames. I stood up, I didn´t knew how I could help, but I couldn´t just sit and watch how my friends life is also ruined.
„Nagi, stay here ,ok?“, if something were to happen to Nagi...I do not want to think about this…
„Just stay safe alright?“, I was already running towards my destination. In the corner of my eye I just saw Nagi speechless and shocked. I am going to protect him, but I can not let my friend die. Funny, I don´t remember ever running so fast..
I was there before I could processed it. Before the burning house stood a women. She was trying to freeze up the flames but failed.
„Hey boy are you alright?“, she noticed me. I nodded answering her question.
„Good then come with me, if you´re not afraid!“.
Afraid? Of course I am afraid. Who wouldn´t ? Still I ignored that and followed her into the house.
Once we were inside, it seemed like the flames got us out of the way.
„Sorry, but that is all i can do for now“, I never saw this women before, nevertheless it was clear that she could use magic. Suddenly we heard something crush and a scream that followed. The scream belonged to Vivienne.
„This way!“, the women said. The scream was coming from the kitchen.. or what was left. We made it down the hallway and were able to find Vivienne. Her right arm was under the crushed pile of debris. Both, the mysterious women and I automatically tried to free her. But there was no use, the pile wouldn´t move.
„Hang in there, Vivienne!“, I could feel that we didn´t have much time left, before the rest of the house will crash.
„My father is still here. Please find him.“, she cried out. By Viviennes face, you could see in how much pain she was.
„Hey boy, find him. I will free her“, the mysterious women looked directly into my eyes, „ Trust me.“. Trust her? If I wouldn´t trust so easily ..maybe we wouldn´t be in such a mess. But there was nothing left. I had to trust her. Once I ran out of the crashed kitchen, I heard an even more excruciating scream. I wanted to turn back but then a part of the ceiling crashed, separating me from them. Wasting time to get to them would me nonsense.
„Is someone there? Please help my daughter!“, I saw Vivienne´s father going down the still functioning stairs in pain.
„Someone is with her. Let me give your a hand!“.
„Louis? It´s you!“, he was rather happy to see me.
„Let´s go!!“, I pulled him on his hand, before the stairs crashed. Then we ran outside as fast as we could.
„Where is Vivienne? I though she was already outside“, the same moment he said this the mysterious women appeared in the door frame.
„Help me! Now!“, I ran to her. She was dragged an half unconscious Vivienne behind her. I took her from women. I felt some warm liquid flowing down my arm as I did this. Once I got a clear view of Vivienne, I understood. The liquid was her blood that came from her upper arm. The lower one missing...
