Ash sat next to Lyee, and behind Ash’s sister Tyrana in a car their friend, Lynn drove. Their sister Tyrana sat braiding her long, brown, blue streaked hair over her shoulder. Ash leaned over, their head resting on Lyee’s shoulder. The teen was tired, the group had spent most of the day out in the field, picking the sweet, wild blueberries there with about ten others. Mindless chatter went on between Lynn and Tyrana. Tyrana was oblivious to the situation behind her, the pair shifting so that Ash was leaning, half-asleep, on Lyee’s chest, and Lyee had her arm around Ash. The pair was half asleep and quietly muttering to each other.
Lynn snuck a peek at the mirror and saw how the two younger teens were cuddled together, and a grin grew on her face. “So! Tyrana, Lyee, Ash, any of you got your eye on someone? A crush, possibly?”
Tyrana blushed and cupped her cheeks, effectively hiding her eyes, but not the blush. Being a classic drama queen she squealed. “No no! I can’t! It’s too embarrassing!”
Lynn shrugged, starting to talk. “Well okay, yo-”
Tyrana cut her off with a dramatic sigh, “Fine, if you insist! I can’t believe you’re making me do this!”
“Ty, no-one is making you do this, you-” Lynn started before getting cut off again.
Tyrana sighed again “Fine, it’s Chris! He’s just so cu-” Lyee’s hand was over her mouth in an instant. The long, gold, fake nails glinting in the dim, sunset, light. Ash, who the two had thought was asleep, giggled as Ty fawned over the nails. The small laugh was enough to bring a light blush to Lyee’s cheeks. Lynn looked back, and thank god they were on a wide country road, because her eyes lingered on the scene behind her for a good thirty seconds. Ash was lying sideways on the bench seat, a giggling mess, she doesn’t giggle very often so this is a nice but rare occurrence. Lyee is pressed against the back of Tyrana´s seat, one hand over Ty’s mouth while the same girl has Lyee’s hand out in front of her, fawning over the gold nails. Finally, Tyrana was blissfully unaware of the fact that Lyee is not only pressed to the back of her seat, but reduced to a blushing mess at Ash’s quiet giggles. Lynn gasped, realizing they got off track.
“Lyee! Ash! You never answered the question! Spill the tea!” She cried, then giggled at her friends’ flushed faces. Ash stuttered out an unintelligible sentence, and Lyee
Ty sighed, “If the two of you don't say something, I will.” Ash spluttered, Her face going beet red, Lyee going bright pink beside her.
Lynn laughed “Ty, pretty much everyone at school knows they like each other!” Ash squeaked and curled into a ball, shoving her earbuds in. Lyee gasped in shock and disbelief. Lynn cried in protest, “What! It’s true!”
“Not mad, but; just because it’s true doesn't mean you freakin’ say it!” looking out the window she gasped and exclaimed, “Oh! Look! The market off we go to sell our fresh blueberries! Off we go!” Lyee opened her door and jumped out of the truck, heading to the back to grab the cooler full of berries. The other three teens hopped out, and followed their friend to their spot at the weekly Farmer’s market.
Tyrana was slightly confused, she whispered to Lynn, “So-, are, we just gonna, ignore what happened earlier?”
Lynn shrugged, responding with; “I mean, I guess? Lyee will act on it later, don't worry.”
Ty nodded in response, “Kay, anyways, lets go!”
