Chapter Eleven
~~Adrian’s POV~~
I was worried about Sunny. The whole walk home she didn’t say a word. She stared at the ground as if she was ashamed of herself. She had nothing to be ashamed about though. She handled the situation really well. I had no idea what Marcus was talking about, but it very clearly affected Sunny. The stuff he said I knew was a lie. I didn’t even need to know what actually happened to know that he was lying about what Sunny did.
I shifted back into my human form and opened the door for Sunny. She hadn’t shifted back yet and I honestly didn’t know if she noticed we made it back.
Cheer our mate up!
I want to Dax. I just don’t know how to. Do you think you could try to get through to her wolf?
I can try.
And with that our conversation ended. I touched her head trying to get her attention. She jumped at the contact and then looked up at me. “You can shift back Sunny.” I said smiling back trying to give her reassurance. She just nodded and shifted.
“Do you believe him?” She said unable to make eye contact. I grabbed her chin gently and tilted her head up to meet my eyes.
“Do I look like a believed a damn word he said.” I said smiling down at her.
“No.” She said in a quiet whisper.
“Do you want to get something to eat?” I asked. She just nodded and followed my lead into the kitchen.
“Can I just have another salad please?” She said as I opened the fridge. I hesitantly nodded to her request.
“You should really try to eat some protein too.” I spoke in a soft tone so that she wouldn’t think I was trying to control her. It was clear that that was what Marcus did to her.
“Uh… it’s just that I couldn’t really eat plants while I was… on the run. I miss salad a lot.” She said hesitantly.
“Okay that’s fine. Do you want eat salad with some chicken in it then, I just want to make sure that you eat enough.” I really want her to eat more. She’s already clearly malnourished and I didn’t want to see her lose any more weight.
“Okay, that’s fine.” She said taking a seat at the small counter we have in the kitchen for quick meals.
“We can just take the food to your room or mine. You won’t have to worry about meeting anyone else yet.” I suggested to her. She just shook her head and stayed seated. Well I guess she doesn’t care. I let out a soft chuckle. So she has a stubborn side to her, cute.
