another strong page tho! still the abundance of dark colours that really represents Patchwork for me. there's a really good case of environment building in the first panel, with the broken down city block. it's very atmospheric and builds the world and mood of Patchwork in a very effective way. you can tell it's a dark, dangerous place that's had some sort of unknown apocalypse-like event in the somewhat distant past. the ripple effect is very well done too! though personally I find that Boot's reflection gets a bit lighter closer to the edge/waist area? that's just me though. but it's a great showcase of the night sky above! it makes me miss Paint Tool Sai a bit, as that brush was really fun for me to use. I did a lot of fun stuff with that brush. it's still a very well rendered clear night sky! the milky way effect really breathes life into this page>
the last panel is really interesting too! not only is it very atmospheric with wonderfully well-done perspective and some fun moss on the wall, showcasing even more of the ripply night sky goodness of the previous panel, but it carries a fun element of the page of teasing Boots appearance. it sets her off as being very lonely, what with the lone reflection and the huge shot where she appears small and by herself, leaning over the waters edge.
very cool page! I like the teasing of the first character appearance without being over-bearing
