Chapter Three
When she woke up, she was in an unfamiliar room, with teal walls and a white ceiling. The bed creaked when she tried to move. That’s when she realized she was in human form. Her arms were bandaged as well as her side where the other wolf had attacked her.
That’s when she started to panic.
Where was she? What was going to happen to her? Were they going to kill her?
She decided that she need to leave. ‘Come on Sunny don’t be a coward! You have to get out! Fight the pain!’ She internally was chanting trying to hype herself up.
Just then she was stopped in her tracks when the door handle started to jiggle. She was literally standing in the middle of the room frozen. Once the door opened and she made eye contact with the uninvited guest she really started to panic.
His race went from surprise to anger in a split second. That scared her even more. She ran, well hobbled into the bathroom as fast as she could and locked the door. She slid against it in pain. Her side was bleeding again.
“Open the door!” The man yelled. “I’m not going to hurt you!” He said from the other side of the door.
“Leave me alone!” She yelled back trying to fight the tremors going through her body.
“Please! You’re bleeding, you ripped open you wound. My alpha will literally kill me if I don’t help you. So, please just help me by letting me help you.” He said his tone turning desperate. She debated what she should do. She couldn’t trust him that was obvious, but he did sound sincere.
“F-fine but back away from the door, please.” She said standing up warily.
“Okay” He said and backed away several steps.
“Thank you.” Sunny said after opening the door. “Um… should I just sit on the bed or?” She said awkwardly standing there.
“Yeah go ahead I’m just going to have to check your wounds.” He said slowly making his way to her.
“O-okay?” She said more as a question than a statement. She was uncertain what to do in this situation. She hadn’t physically talked to any humans or werewolves in so many years that she had no clue how she should act.
“My name is Samuel just so you know.” He said smiling at her. He seemed almost hesitant to touch her.
“You can fix the wrappings. It’s not like I’m going to eat you. I’m too weak for that anyway.” She mumbled the last part under her breath. She didn’t feel comfortable revealing her name and she probably wouldn’t ever tell them either.
“Do you have a name?” Samuel asked.
“I’d rather not tell you it.” She said being honest.
“Then why don’t you just give me a name to call you until you’re ready to tell us.” He said cleaning the wound which made her wince.
“I don’t know what I should be called.” She said almost robotically. She really didn’t have people skills anymore.
“Just choose something random or maybe a word that describes you?” He said smiling to himself.
“Ummm….” She dragged out trying to think. “How about nothing.” She said sarcastically. She didn’t see the point in trying to get close to anyone. She was either going to be killed or run away.
“I don’t think we can call you Nothing.” He said not picking up on the sarcasm. She just rolled her eyes.
“Alrighty, you’re all set.” He said getting up. “I’ll go tell the Alpha that you’re awake and all bandaged up.” He said gathering up his supplies.
Great! She thought to herself. That’s all she needs right now!
