Chapter 0ne
It had just turned Spring and Sunny’s sinuses were all screwed up from the pollen. She couldn’t smell a thing. She couldn’t even hunt! How was she supposed to eat if she couldn’t smell if a deer or rabbit was within a five-hundred-yard-radius? She was screwed!
She smiled to herself when she stumbled upon a small pond in a beautiful opening. At that moment she would have loved to have a camera. She could see fish swimming around, and a clever thought came to her.
You don’t have to smell fish to hunt them!
And so, in she went, catching a total of three decent sized Bass. “I won’t be starving tonight!” She said to herself as she bit the heads off so that they wouldn’t hop back into the pond.
She laid down in the grass in an attempt to dry off. It would start to cool down since nightfall was only a few hours away and she hated being cold. She decided she would start eating the fish before the bugs got to it.
Those three fish were the most food she’s eaten is several days. She would usually head to a new area after eating but she was feeling really tired so she figured it wouldn’t hurt to just take a short nap.
She was usually too paranoid to sleep but she found the wonderful calmness of the pond help her in calming herself. She missed the days she had with her parents and pack all before the incident. She used to be a carefree and rebellious child.
I wonder what they would think of me now. She thought to herself. She then rolled over onto her side ready to sleep. “Nothing bad will happen, Sunny” she reasoned with herself before falling asleep.
Boy was she wrong!
