The two year old gelding followed Kate into the barn calmly. She cross tied him and untracked him. Kate brushed him and began to cry.
“Come on Riptide, let’s just try. I know you’ve got a lot of heart.” She hugged the horse.
Kate led the horse to his stall and let him rest. As she was putting away the brushes and exercise tack, a voice called out to her.
“Kate, can you come to the house for a bit?” Her father asked.
“Sure dad, I’ll be right there.” She replied.
Kate closed the barn door and headed toward the house.
