Aiwa’s POV
It is year 6020, where everything is super technologically advanced. My mother, well she’s an extremely intelligent scientist and I meant it. She was able to make a heart for me, an android.
I finally reached Sean’s Grocery Outlet and headed inside. Suspecting to see a robot cashier, I was quite surprised to see a human working at the register.
“Ding.” Rang the bell above the door.
The noise had made the man look over, a smile growing on his face.
“Hello! I usually know everyone around these parts, are you new to Yuléville?” The man asked.
I shook my head, “ No sir. I’ve just haven’t been outside for quite some time, my mother is very protective.”
He nodded as if he understood what I meant, “Well then, my name’s Sean Jr., but you can just call me Junior.”
“It’s nice to meet you, Junior. My name’s Aiwa.”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you too, Miss Aiwa. Now if you need anything, don't hesitate to ask me.” He gave her a kind smile before helping a lady with her groceries.
I nodded at him before looking around for the things my mother had listed down to get.
It was quite some time before I suddenly heard yelling, it sounded like it was coming from the front. I ran towards the front to see a masked android aiming a gun at Junior.
“Open the register.” They had yelled to him.
Following the droid’s orders, Junior had opened the register. Leaving the android to take some money and shoving it into a black pouch.
“Hey you! My mother told me that stealing is bad!” I yelled pointing to the robber.
They turned to me and eyed me down, “Well little lady, I am bad.”
And just as they had finished that sentence they raised their gun at me and shot.
I dodged somehow and looked at the robber once again, “How dangerous.”
I ran towards the robber, but before I could unleash something back at them they had ran out of the store.
“You alright, Aiwa?” Junior had asked me.
“Fitter than a fiddle. How about you?”
“They didn’t harm me, but they still got away with some cash.” Junior sighed, “My big man is going to be pissed.”
“They did? I’ll go after them.” And before Junior could respond, I bolted out the door.
I looked around to see where the robber could have ran to.
‘Miics, can you scan the area for that robber’s IP code?’ I mentally asked my internal intelligent computer software.
‘Scanning now…’ They responded as they scanned a radius of 10 miles, finally finding the culprit, ‘located.’
I noticed one IP code stand out above all and started to follow it like a tracking device. Only to be met with a dead end alleyway.
I looked around finally noticing the IP code was to my left...inside a wall. I peered at it closely and reached out to touch the wall. Which seemingly enough wasn’t a real wall, but a projection. So, I walked through and all I could see was darkness. My vision was finally adjusting when I heard a click of a gun and a voice.
“Don’t move, or I will shoot.” It was the robber.
“How did you find me?” They asked, their gun pressed up against my neck.
My eyes glanced towards the gun, it seemed to be attached to her arm, like it was a part of her. How come I hadn’t noticed that in the store?
‘Analyzing…’ Miics had said.
“I asked ‘how did you find me?’” The droid was very impatient.
They were about to speak again, but this time with more force. Bringing their gun back, they were going to bash me in the head, reacting, I held their wrist before punching their face with my free hand.
Getting angry, the droid had made their other hand into a gun and aimed it straight at my head. Before they could pull the trigger I gripped their other wrist and bashed our foreheads together.
“You son of a -!” They yelled backing up as I let go of their arms.
“Just hand over the pouch and I will leave peacefully.” I stated hoping to not fight anymore.
They spat at the ground before retracting their guns, “Cannons Aim!”
Suddenly there was some lights behind the robber which revealed multiple cannons.
“Now, retreat or I will fire the cannons.”
‘Data analyzed, would you like to receive?’ Miics asked.
‘Go for it.’
‘Cannons are unloaded and most likely are used to create a bluff. Android prefers to be stated as female and is known as, Sid. Weak points. Opponent is low on stamina. Opponent’s chest holds vital hardware, strike it.’
“What a bluff.” I laughed, “Those cannons are obviously unloaded.”
Sid’s POV
She called my bluff? But how? She must not be a human...but my readers aren’t picking up any signs of an IP code…That doesn’t matter. I need to get rid of her quick.
I clenched my teeth and started to charge at her.
She started to smirk and charged towards me as well. She must know something I don’t, my vision suddenly was blocked by multiple error signs.
I staggered and noticed a fist aiming right at my hardware. My eyes widened waiting for the clenched fist to hit. Only to get harshly pushed at my chest getting blown back and hitting a wall.
She used her palm against me? Is she feeling sympathy? How pathetic..
“I’ll let you off easily. Just tell me where the pouch is and I will get out of your hair.”
I clicked my tongue, knowing my limit, she knows my vital point, if I got another blow I would be a goner. I looked to a box to my left.
“It’s in there.”
Aiwa’s POV
‘Android ‘Sid’ tells the truth.’
I looked at them then walked over to the box, opening it and saw the pouch. I took it and looked back at her.
“If I was your creator I would be embarrassed.” I said before heading out.
Sid’s POV
My creator? Who was my creator?
Junior’s POV
I leaned against the counter waiting for that strange girl to come back, though after an hour or two I had started to worry that maybe she couldn’t fight against the robber android and was about to leave the store only to hear the bell ring. I looked over and it was her.
“Aiwa! You’re okay!” I beamed looking at her, she seemed unharmed so that was good.
“I got the money back.” She grinned and handed me the pouch.
“Thank you so much.”
“No problem.” She said before her face flushed into a panic, “Oh my god, it’s almost seven o’clock and I haven’t even bought the groceries yet!”
She suddenly dashed off into the store. I chuckled and waited for her at the register.
“Your total is fifty-eight dollars and three cents.” I stated as she handed me sixty dollars.
“And your change is fifty seven cents.” I said as I handed her her change.
“Thank you so much.” She said, bowing politely to me before making an exit.
“Aiwa...very unique indeed.”
Aiwa’s POV
I finally reached my house and trudged towards the door only to notice that it was cracked open. Cautiously I pushed the door open and saw the horror that awaited me.
“Mom?” I asked, not being able to sense her body heat anywhere.
‘Miics, locate mother.’
‘Locating…’
I walked further through the broken glass and fallen furniture. Not seeing a single thing spared.
‘Located.’
It was mother’s IP code for her watch. She always wore it! I ran towards it, hoping I would be able to save her. Only to be fated with some blood and a watch.
