*Time skip, after school.*
The final bell rang and I stood up and began to unconsciously speed walk through the halls to meet up with my new buddy. Once I noticed, I let out a soft chuckle and said to my self wow I don't think I have ever been so childish. The last time I was this giddy was when my dad came back home. Dad... I miss him. I pulled my mask down and let me tears glide down my once again pale face. I am absolutely pathetic, I am a huge cry baby a failure. What I didn't notice was that I was back in the alley.
I quickly wiped my tears, pulled off my mask completely and glanced around looking for the dog. He wasn't there... I said I wouldn't wait for him, but that was clearly a bluff. I sat down against the wall and sat there patiently. Looking up at the sky.

*Nudge, nudge* I jump up and my stuff falls out my bag, quickly I scatter frantically looking for my pocket knife. I look to the side of me and realize it is the cute little pooch staring back at me with a confused yet happy look on his snout. Without a warning he pounces on me and begins to lick my face. "Aw miss me that much my little buddy?" I said with a huge grin on my face. Honestly I missed the little guy a lot as well. My whole school day went to thinking about what adventures we would get to have together. When suddenly, our moment of joy came to a crashing end. My phone vibrated in my pocket playing "pretty face Pretty face with pretty bad dreams
No one knows i cry in my sleep. Waking up feeling like shit. It's a normal thing to feel like this.I don't care." Slowly my hand lifts the phone out my pocket to see my mother calling me. My body shivers as I gently tap the pick up button.

This is not a real number
"H-hello?" I say, my breathing is abnormally heavy and my body begins to quake under all of the fear being placed in me. "Honey, why aren't you home yet. You had me very worried. I called you about ten other times."
Ten times? "Oh I'm sorry Mom, I didn't notice." All the fear I had slowly drained from my body. She was sober and it was a good thing too. Normally if she was drunk she would of called, and then went out looking for me on her own. "Don't worry about it sweet heart, now I am going to start making dinner, so if you could come home soon that would be great." She said giggling. "No problem mom, hey before I hang up can I ask you something?" "Sure sweetie, what is it?" "Is it okay if I.... Um. Bring home a new furry addition to the family?" "If that was your odd way of asking if you can have a pet you are going to need to come home and ask your father." She said as she hung up.
