“So this happens often?” Damon asked, sitting down beside me.
“Well when you’re openly gay and there’s assholes around you, you tend to get picked on.” I said sighing as all those awful memories from high school came at me.
“Yeah but that doesn’t mean you deserve it.” Damon said looking at me with almost a worried expression.
“Listen, I know that you’re Jake’s brother and all but I don’t need you pitying me or giving me advice. I survived high school while everyone knew I was gay so I’ll survive college. I don’t need anyone.” I said and got up. I don’t care if I acted like an asshole it’s just better this way.
I started walking back to the dorms but a hand stopped me. “What now?” I said looking back.
“I wasn’t pitying you or anything like that but my brother is friends with you and I’m only looking out for you on my brothers behalf.” He said letting go of my hand. I didn’t know what to say so I just didn’t say anything. I turned ready to leave but I guess he wasn’t done talking because he grabbed my wrist preventing me from leaving.
“What?!” I yelled losing my temper.
“Sorry, I just don’t understand why you’re being such an asshole right now.” He said rubbing the back of his neck.
“Maybe it’s because I am an asshole.” I said looking at him. I almost got lost in his eyes but quickly shook my head.
“I know that you aren’t because Jake talks about you a lot and he never says you act like this.” He gestured to me.
“Ugh Jake, whyyyyyyy” I said looking at the sky thinking it would give me the answers. “Just leave me alone.” I mumbled and hurried off so he couldn’t stop me. This time he didn’t, thankfully.
As I got closer to the dorms my anxiety started to spike. What if they were waiting for me? I slowed my pace down to a snail crawl.
I opened the door to the dorm building and scoped out the entrance. Nobody was there. I hurried down the hall towards my dorm and went inside.
“Son of bitch!” I said under my breath when I saw all of them sitting on Sam’s bed. “I’ll come back later.” I said turning the handle to the door, but before I could open it and slip out an arm blocked me.
