Gish: At the time of this drawing, little did I know that this was a sign of autonomic nerve function. All I knew was I was always freezing or really overheated. Now, I know that this can be a symptom of Postural Ortho-tachycardia Syndrome (P.O.T.S.), a common co-morbidity to EDS and one I didn't get diagnosed with until over a year after creating the comic.
Gish has a disability called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, a genetic disorder that causes the body to have faulty collagen (which is EVERYWHERE. Gish's joints and digestive system are majorly affected causing widespread pain.), along with a handful of the rare conditions that go along with it; these include but are not limited to P.O.T.S. and Interstitial Cystitis. With the help of Sizlak, they approach this horrible combination of genetic diseases with a little humor in doodle format.
